Well if you need a PC to get online you certainly didn't break the bank. Luckily with practically no investment in hardware this old you are not at any loss if it takes a dump on you. I guess its all about price to performance really.

Back when I was in high school 17 years ago I was in need for a PC from school and I had to do the same thing in order to get school work done since I could not afford a PC. I was on welfare then living on my own trying to finish high school. I got myself a Pentium 3 trash pc that was missing several components and I had to get hand me down parts to get it running. Beggers cant be choosers. That was the first PC that I ever partially built and since then I refuse to buy a pre-built. Half the excitement and fun of getting a new PC is building it yourself in my opinion.
