Description

Put together my very first build using the Ryzen 5 3600x and Radeon RX 5700. Mainly use for Gaming and light productivity workloads. System has been pretty fast and stable so far.

CPU idles around 39-41 deg C in an ambient of 35 deg C. Did a CPU stress test using CPU-Z and all cores boosted to 4.2GHz while temps touched a max of 82 deg C. This is with the included wraith spire box cooler. Under mixed loads the golden and silver cores shown in Ryzen master boost close to 4.3 to the advertised 4.4 max boost clock.

Yet to bench the GPU. Hardly had time after I put up the build. Hopefully I can do it soon. This is the first time I am building a PC all by myself and I am really happy with the outcome.

Love the build. You did good for your first time. How are you liking the Rx 5700? I'm looking to upgrade my GPU and I'm looking at the 5700 and 5700 xt.

Thank you 🙂. 5700 is pretty good. The stock fan curve sucks though. It's more oriented towards silence. Tweaked it a bit for temperature and it's pretty good.

I would like to wire my graphics card the same way. Can you send me the link to where you got those cables?

Hi, The cables are the cooler master PSU extension cables. Please let me know the country you're from and will send you the link.

The stock cooler is good only for ligh gaming and office productivity load. You need an aftermarket cooler to unlock the full potential of the Ryzen chip for heavy gaming and productivity. Good recommendations:

Nice one. I'm thinking of doing a first build along the same lines but with a lower budget. You've given me a few ideas. How are you finding the case?

Pretty good thermals and look wise. Easy to build. Solid cable management.

IKR. Unfortunate. Effect of paying 18% GST 🙂
