This is my first time building, I've been using prebuilt laptops up to now.

What I aimed for was something that could play all my games on ultra, run fast, and I could easily upgrade as needed. So far I have met all those goals!

Assembly: Easy enough to figure out using the manuals and watching a youtube video of someone putting something similar together. In total it took me 6 hours from when I opened all the boxes up to I was playing games and mesmerized by the beautiful graphics.

One hour of that was spent figuring out the sole problem I ran into. The first time I booted up there was no display, to fix this I had to remove one of the 8gb RAM sticks until after I had installed Windows (on the SSD of course).

The case makes it very easy for cable management and has good airflow. You can also modify fan speeds and turn off the white lights on the fans. I also decided to turn one of the drive bays so I had a fan pulling from the front and another going sideways on my hard drive.

I may add a second GPU in SLI, but based on what I've heard I will probably switch to a nvidia 1080 when they become available.

One annoying thing I've run into is the blu-ray drive didn't come with any software, so I can't watch blu-ray discs on it currently.

I considered adding a sound card, but the sound quality I am getting through the HDMI hooking my display to my GPU is great.

The lack of blu-ray software is the sole complaint I have with any part of this build

Part Reviews

CPU Cooler

Takes up quite a bit of room and is a little awkward putting in, but it works great and is quiet.

Only complaint is I had to remove my second 8gb RAM stick to get anything to display the first time I booted up, after I had windows in place I put it back in and no issues to date

Love it. Installed windows 10 on it, went back and optimized a couple settings, and it takes next to no time to start up.

Video Card

1) Install skyrim 2) Open and let it detect hardware to decide settings 3) Enjoy when it says ultra high 4) Bask in the beauty of playing all your games on ultra

Excellent cable management. You can control fan speed and lights on/off from the front panel. You can change the direction of the front 2 fans it comes with. Lots of room.

Optical Drive

Didn't come with any software, so can't watch blu-ray without buying $50 software

Operating System

Annoying the difficulties applying the large updates. Otherwise better than windows 8.1 imo

Exactly, the 1080s look amazing. I'm probably going to pass my 980 over to my wife and get a 1080 for myself once EVGA offers them :P

you can pick up a 980 for pretty little money now and with the release of the 1080 it will be even less so the 980 is a good card for the price. Also don't bother getting a factory overclocked card you will save alot of money and you can overclock it yourself.

How did you get your power switch to light up with that red flame? Mine doesn't light up cause the case didn't come with a power_led wire. What do I do?
