But instead I spent the whole semester looking for deals on /r/buildapcsales and now I have a sweet setup and a 2.7 GPA.
Too early to say much about this CPU that hasn't already been said before. It's fast, as far as I can tell and definitely affordable. Especially since I got it used.
As a first time builder, this seemed great to work with. The manual makes that part easy enough, and there's really nothing negative I can say about it. There was a point where I felt that perhaps at this price point there may be better boards out there, but for a deal, this does exactly what it needs to.
Does ram stuff and looks good doing it! Can't complain.
Also got this bad boy used on eBay. I was a little skeptical at first, but the quality of this GPU really shines through it not just style but practicality as well. I don't own any newer, demanding games right now to really test it out, but for the older games I do have, this has been perfect so far.
Love this freaking case! Again, as a first time builder, I was a little intimidated and unsure of how to accomplish the task, but this case made the entire process much, much easier. Great cable management. Lots of free-play when it comes to customization. Spacious, yet it seems compact from the outside. It's perfect!
A gift from another friend! This PSU is easily the least stylish part I own, but free is free. It also does everything it needs to and for that I give it 5-stars. If an ugly green psu and ugly orange/yellow cables don't bother you (because maybe you can hide them pretty easily like me), then this is a perfectly great item.
Awesome little monitor! (Though the curve really makes it appear deceptively large) It has a sleek look and minimalistic qualities, which can be good or bad depending. There is only one button utilized for all the menu settings such as input, volume, and so on, so that's kind of a strange thing to consider, but definitely not a deal breaker at this price point. There are also no built in speakers, but if you have something laying around like I do that you can connect to via aux, then no problem. For those lacking amenities and the fact that you cannot adjust the angle or height of the screen, I knock a star off. But then again, when are curved monitors ever cheaper than $200? If you can get this on sale like me, then it's worth every penny. Plus there's the included FreeSync, quality assurance that comes with the Samsung brand, and other cool features I'm still discovering. No regrets here.
