Description

Not an Intel/AMD, or a Nvidia/Radeon fanboy. Love the fact both are competive in price and performance. It's nice to change things up every once in awhile. So far so good. Solid cpu given the bios issues/general issues it's had since launch. Can be inconvenient from time to time, but it's enjoyable to me testing, and working with products that... Need testing and community feedback. Put the 9940x and 9900k off to the side for now.

Here's a little update to this build. The last update before swapping out the case for the Luxe 2 (Phanteks Enthoo 719 now) and the x570 ASRock Aqua. The basement on this case is massive, so I passed the gpu through, ran some soft tubing up the back to the pass-throughs up top. Drilled the holes with a step-down bit. Was going for a minimal look. No RGB other than the board. Still swapping out the fans for some Noctuas as those will carry over.

The Aqua is super rare and expensive! Only 999 of them. Linus made a video on the Aqua and the specs are pretty buff :)

Very clean build! The reservoir and the AIO threw me for a moment but now it makes sense after reading your description. (doesn't everybody flip through the pics first, anyways? Lol).

It's what I was running in my x299 build. It was this or high latency 3600. See a decent fps increase as I can run 14-16-16-32 on this kit opposed to a 19-20-20-40. I'll be picking up a 32GB kit for the aqua. I'm not sure who I'm going with yet. I know in real world applications and lesser workloads it's not even noticeable. Just my ego being fed at this point with high end hardware as I couldn't afford it for the longest time.

Guess it's kinda like those 60 year olds buying brand new corvettes that they never take to the track or never drive over 80mph haha Drives me nuts

hmmm - not nice pickin on the old folks. . . I'm 73 and drive a fully modded STI and have tracked it several times. It's true I've never had it over 145mph tho. This year I have built 2 Ryzen 5 3600's, 1 Ryzen 7 3700 and a 2950X Threadripper. Oh yeah I just sold my last motorcycle, an FJR1300A, with 5oK miles on it. It's the kids that drive me nuts... Pretty awesome build here - good luck with it

cool build. I like the Aqua motherboard. Do you plan to post something new when you get everything swapped out?

Yessir. It'll be sometime around December/Jan. Still have a bit of stuff to buy for the project. Super excited though.

It looks very cool! But I'm curious as to why you would involve custom water cooling to the GPU and settle with an AIO water cooler for your CPU.

Maybe a stop-gap solution. He did swap the motherboard for the ASrock Aqua and the first few pictures are before the swap.

It was for my test bench, ended up selling the bench (Haf XB) to a buddy for a budget build I did for him. Rather than buying another cpu block I threw it in. Absolutely love this AIO. If I was sticking with this board I would add it to the loop, or honestly just an S36 as - /+ 30-40C on the gpu is nice. Adding a cpu to the loop would bring it up around 50ish, as well as some increased cpu temps as this case doesn't have the best rad support.

Edit: Now that I think about it, the Heatkiller IV has a $20 conversion kit. EK might as well. But then it's tubing, a bigger rad, etc.

Looks awesome! Great loop since it achieved such temps for the GPU and CPU
