Description

The goal of this build was to look good be rgb and would Perform 60fps in microsoft flight simulator x with nuce addons. The 3800€ is a lot but monitors, hotad, case were already bought. RGB approved and FSX @ 60fps to. In short words it was a pleasure to build and is performing like a beast

Part Reviews

CPU

Very good CPU, overclocked @5,00GHZ 1.32V and 65°C Maximum For users that need a good FSX performence this quad core is the way to go (FSX Users: turn of hyperthreading!! it only uses the 4 cores and doesnt benefit from virtual cores)

CPU Cooler

Stock fans are loud at full speed but 75% is the way to go on my images i had LL120 fans at max speed but that wasnt enough for me (see LL review) connected to the link software is a must for me but the cable is unfortunly so thick :((

Motherboard

Once asus always asus. I choosed Asus because of its strength i also have a 12 year old P5W DH Deluxe from Asus that never let me down it even ran with the 1050ti i games on it for 4 years and that didnt let me down but yeah. The Maximus IX Formula is a rough stylish and good motherboard no complains (and a easy bios to wrok with) BUT 1 THING 1x a USB2.0 connector SO ANNOYING i can only choose to get my fan change of rgb colors or my H100iv2 its a shame but im gona buy a corsair commander pro in the future and that should help

Memory

Works fine. Enable XMP profile in the bios though so that it runs @3000mhz (+10FPS in FSX)

Storage

Works,Fast,Reliable 1 of these drives is for FSX

Storage

Super fast. FSX Steam is on it FSX Accel doesnt fit (350GB so yeah on that WD SSD it does)

Video Card

3 HDMI Ports, Perfect for my 3 monitors. FSX usage: 60-70% War thunder at highest settings 60 FPS

Case

Very good case but after using it for a while it anoyes me that its not tempered glass and it doesnt come to the top so my LL rgb fans aren't viseble if you look straight on it No powersupply shroud thats anoying me to.

Power Supply

Perfect and overkill but good for in the future

Optical Drive

Just using it sometimes no problems.

Operating System

I dont like it that much but we have to go with the flow. First i installed win7 on my PC but the unsupported hardware became anoying. I still prefer win7 ultimate

Case Fan

Best lighting effects but not realy a good performer i recommend to use it only for case fans

Case Fan

Best lighting effects but not realy a good performer i recommend to use it only for case fans

Mouse

Funny story its as old as my previous pc and that was 12 years and never broke My most favorite part of my build! ;)

Why the 1050ti with an i7 lol. You have 32gbs of ram instead of a better gpu? Pricing areas are a bit weird on this one. You’re also getting a weird version of Windows that’s an extra 100

You have to now that this build mainly for FSX the game runs best on a non hyperthreaded quad core and 5,0ghz i overclocked it and put a voltage gain of 0,1volts FSX doesnt need a high end gpu. About that ram youre trur but when ill buy dcs planes multilayer is reccomended with 32gb of ram

3 ssd's? 1200W power supply and a 1050ti... Interesting choices but other then that surprisingly clean

Mouse16 submitter 2 Builds 1 point 8 months ago

i know its overpowered but i chosed a 1200w psu for upgrading in the future to sli setup

mitchellh919 1 point 7 months ago

the 1050ti doesn't support sli, so are you looking to upgrade your GPU in the future?

Mouse16 submitter 2 Builds 1 point 7 months ago

Yes maybr a 1070ti sli or something

Mouse16 submitter 2 Builds 1 point 8 months ago

I can't say that I fully understand the reasoning behind some of the purchase decisions, but I'm sure there is some. Nice build!

Mouse16 submitter 2 Builds 1 point 8 months ago

You probably mean 2 ssd as long term storage and the 1200w psu one of the ssd stores my large 350GB FSX game so i needed ateast one For the psu its because of future upgrades

Steelbawng 1 Build 2 points 8 months ago

i love how everything but the GPU is overkill

Mouse16 submitter 2 Builds 2 points 8 months ago

Eum oke? If you mean the cpu i needed that for fsx a 2006 game that is cpu based

Steelbawng 1 Build 1 point 7 months ago

ohhhhhhhhh that makes sense.

alexsack 1 Build 1 point 8 months ago

how do you like the 1050ti? I'm looking to get it relatively soon, i've heard some great things about it

Mouse16 submitter 2 Builds 2 points 8 months ago

Best gpu for my experience i only play War Thunder (highest settings) and FSX at 1080p60 i needed 3 hdmi ports and the gigabyte card had that. Also the xtreme gaming engine software is ez to use its always on gaming mode or oc mode

The ram and power supply seem way overboard, and the gpu seems underboard. Just confused, but it's a good build!

Mouse16 submitter 2 Builds 1 point 8 months ago

As stated before, the Ram is overkill but may be needed in multiplayer DCS (see the steam recommended ram in multiplayer) and the powersupply could be used in future upgrades like SLI

SmartWolf 1 point 8 months ago

what flight sim to you run? i'm interested in the same but not started up yet

Bajabugred 1 point 8 months ago

The submitter says it in the description

Mouse16 submitter 2 Builds 1 point 8 months ago

Microsoft Flight Simulator X (2006) its not good without addons but its the best simulator out there. If you want to dtart futuristic go for prepar3d it has good basic planes, scenery its 64 bit so thats a good thing to its not only the cpu but also gpu intensive. Overall you should watch some videos about the 2 but beware FSX has limitations and requires alot of work and money for addons

Bajabugred 1 point 8 months ago

Good build, but why only a 1050ti?

Mouse16 submitter 2 Builds 1 point 8 months ago

It's FSX very cpu intensive and not gpu. Im not an fps gamer to so no ned yet for a good gpu

Bajabugred 1 point 8 months ago

Oh ok, I didnt know. Still why such a high wattage psu

Mouse16 submitter 2 Builds 1 point 8 months ago

For upgrades in the future likr sli
