Description

I built this exactly one year ago but didn't find the time to put online... What a pity! It was top of the range... now already overtaken in several ways.

However - I'm still very pleased with it and I built a whole 3.3 meter custom desk around it. Can't help but showing pics of this as well.

Motherboard: Originally I had an Asrock X399 Taichi motherboard but it fried after 6 months when I enabled CPU + GPU rendering at the same time (VRay). I sent it back to the manufacturer and they sent back a new one (after 3 months) which I'm selling on ebay atm. Therefore I got the MSI X399 SLI which works also very well. Only thing it doesn't have WiFi on board - but that's okay.

Will write a bit more later - short on time again :-/

Yes, it is! I fell in love with it but have to say after one year that it really is for gaming rather than serious work. I'm used to two or three monitors and it is really handy to be able to adjust the angle between them. With this huge thing I find myself leaning left and right a lot to get closer to the screen.... I might sell it soon... But, hey - still really cool looking :-p

If you sell it I might buy it, and also, what do you think of the case, I'm thinking of using it for my first build

Thanks! My wife got a little spot on the far left side for her laptop. The middle got the steering wheel, pedals, etc for Assetto Corsa and PC2. I might post pics of that as well but doesn't look very tidy atm...

What apps are you using that require so many cores/threads?

3D rendering and compositing. Both use CPU and GPU. Main apps are: - VRay and Arnold for rendering - Nuke and Fusion for compositing Happy to go into more detail...
