Description

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Heroes in a half-shell Turtle Power!

They're the world's most fearsome fighting team (We're really hip!)

They're heroes in a half-shell and they're green (Hey - get a grip!)

When the evil Shredder attacks These Turtle boys don't cut him no slack!

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

Splinter taught them to be ninja teens (He's a radical rat!)

Leonardo leads, Donatello does machines (That's a fact, Jack!)

Raphael is cool but crude (Gimme a break!) Michelangelo is a party dude (PARTY!)

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Heroes in a half-shell Turtle Power!

So this is a major cosmetic upgrade while at the same time upgrading a few parts. Sad part is I spent more on upgrades than I spent on the original build XD.

CPU: From previous build, no complaints in the 1 1/2 years that I've had it.

Corsair H100i: So this is a new part for this build, was kinda disappointed when I found out that I couldn't do a push pull config, but other than that I like the cooler so far. I've had Prime 95 on for about an 1 1/2hrs with stock speeds haven't had time to try to OC the cpu yet and it only got up to 50 degrees.

MOBO: See CPU commit

RAM: See MOBO

SSD: I would have to say one of the best upgrades that I have done to this build, especially because League of Legends seems to crash a lot and that relaunch time is amazing. Nothing worse then getting into a match and having to relaunch the game and it taking 5 minutes to relaunch now it takes less than a minute.

HHD: See RAM

GPU: So I kinda got caught up in the launch hype of this card, but no compaints works good as a single card for 1440p gaming, it won't max out everything but its good enough for me.

Case: So I fell in love with this case the second I saw it in Microcenter, unfortunately they were out and I was impatient. So instead of getting a black one, or ordering one I bought the display model, which had several scratches and was missing a few filters (I didn't notice the missing filters until quite a while later). Anyways so a year and a half later I finally decided to repaint the case order some filters, decided to go with a TMNT theme paint job. Fortunately my cousin owed me a favor and is a pretty good painter.

PSU: So this was by far the worst upgrade that I did. Now I now what you're thinking, why did you upgrade it? I upgraded it mainly for the fully modularity because I really wanted to sleeve the cables, and I thought it would be easier to sleeve... I was wrong. Not sure what EVGA was thinking but those cables were tangled as all get out. But I digress, I managed to sleeve them and I learned a valuable lesson.

Optical Drive: See HDD

OS: See Optical Drive

Wireless adapter: It works, what else do you want from me?

Case Fans: I ordered 10 of these fans hoping to do a push pull with the H100i but unfortunately there was not enough clearance for it so now I have 3 spare instead of one DX.

Monitor: So I decided to upgrade to 1440p and now I think I am addicted to it, I have been looking for a 21:9 3440x1440 monitor and waiting for one to go on sale (fingers crossed).

So thank you for your time, feel free to ask any questions.

Oh my gosh, I love it! Brings back memories of when I was a little girl. Watching the teenage mutant ninja turtles from the 1987~1996 TV series. I remember playing my Saga Genius 16-bit cartridge: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, The Hyper Stone Heist. Even the movies.. go ninja, go ninja go!

(Yes, I still have my 1988 toys too. Old Action Figures )

Amazing theme you created here. Love the customized case. And I love on how you individualize each sleeved color as Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael and Michelangelo. Thank you for sharing this build, absolutely amazing! +1,000~

JAR1337 submitter 5 Builds 4 points 30 months ago

Thank you very much, I'm glad it brought back fond memories. I even started rewatching the old episodes as I was doing the sleeving ;)

Eltech 16 Builds 4 points 30 months ago

That's even better! You're the best! :D

bobtherock 3 Builds 4 points 30 months ago

Looks great. If you want to continue with the green theme inside, you can replace the LEDs on the Windforce logo with Green ones. I switched mine to red, its fiddly but VERY cheap and makes great difference to looks.

Wonderful job! The only thing I would have done different is I would have found a way to sneak a pizza somewhere into the graphics/paint scheme. +1

JAR1337 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 30 months ago

Thanks, and I know I tried to think of a place for it but I couldn't think of a place that I thought looked right. Might be something that I add in the future tho.

dc 2 Builds 1 point 30 months ago

Actually after looking again. I think the top of the Power supply is a great place for a pizza with a slice missing. Could be seen through the window. :)

Wow I was happy with my build until I saw this.... Back to the sewer! I mean back to the lab! Beautiful!

1 real question though. The fan on the drive cage is blowing air into your GPU. Wouldn't that air be warm from the drive cage?

Also, where'd you get those awesome sleeves?

JAR1337 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 30 months ago

I haven't noticed any heat issues, so I don't think that it is an issue. As for the sleeving I did it myself, it took quite a while and a few mistakes were made along the way, but I enjoyed it all the same.

Thanks, and I'm glad that you enjoyed it so much.

JAR1337 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 30 months ago

ajpinton 11 Builds 2 points 30 months ago

That case, dang. I cannot give enough +1's for this build. I have always hated that ammo crate looking case, until you got to it. Hats off to you good sir.

I only have one suggestion, paint the DVD drive cover as well. That was the only thing that looks out of place, this is epic all and all.

JAR1337 submitter 5 Builds 2 points 30 months ago

Thanks. I thought about painting the Blu-ray drive as well but didn't want to risk ruining it with the spray paint, and we couldn't get the colors to match with the acrylic paint to hand paint it so I just decided to drip some ooze over it and call it good. Glad you liked it.

xWGCx-JoKeR 2 points 30 months ago

What paint did you use and how long did it take?

JAR1337 submitter 5 Builds 2 points 30 months ago

All in all the paint job took a little under a week, including all the prep, the new base coat, and the actual painting of the TMNT logo and the ooze. As for the paint I know that the base coat is Krylon Super Maxx Satin. As for the logo work my cousin says that she used an acrylic paint. Now on the time it took, we used a heat gun to speed up some of this process so keep that in mind if you wanted to do something like this yourself, as it may take a little long without one. Hope that helped.

xWGCx-JoKeR 1 point 30 months ago

It did alot, thank you.

JAR1337 submitter 5 Builds 2 points 30 months ago

Oh I almost forgot, we put on a layer of Krylon crystal clear acrylic. Not sure I would recommend this step tho, it kinda put a few white specs on the case. Fortunately you can only see them up close but if I had know I would of skipped that step all together or done something different.

xWGCx-JoKeR 1 point 30 months ago

Oh, cool, thanks

vrada501 2 points 30 months ago

This is one of the best set ups my eyes have ever seen. Awesome job, dude!!

Just curious, are you a fan of the comic TMNT originally was, which unlike the cartoon was bloody and graphic?

JAR1337 submitter 5 Builds 2 points 30 months ago

Na I've never really been a big comic guy, but I did know that the comics used to be pretty brutal. Thanks for the complement, glad you enjoyed it :D

DeadlyRazer 2 points 30 months ago

If you win the lottery or something along those lines, then i would got with this monitor that launches late in 2015: http://www.overclock3d.net/articles/gpu_displays/acer_predator_xr341ck_34_curved_g-sync_and_freesync_monitor/1. Anyway, your build is awesome, very few people(if any) can make a pc look that smexy +1

JAR1337 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 30 months ago

It's funny that you bring up that monitor. That is the one I've been waiting to come out to make my final decision. I'm hoping that it drops down to about a grand, unlikely but fingers crossed. I think it is set to launch in September

DeadlyRazer 2 points 30 months ago

Coincidence? I think not. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) Anyway, good luck!

Meta_SCO 1 point 30 months ago

My only disappointment is that you didn't pick a Sabertooth motherboard for your build. Other than that, nice build man!

JAR1337 submitter 5 Builds 2 points 30 months ago

Thanks. This was a upgrade to a build that I did about a year and a half ago, wish I know then what I know now.

Mikeportnoyz 1 point 30 months ago

Just one question: how did you manage the aesthetic touches?

Raimei 1 point 30 months ago

My only "problem" with it is that there's NOT ENOUGH TMNT IN IT!

Other than that... HOLY ****! THAT IS ******* AWESOME!

neilreyes 1 point 30 months ago

Does it ever bottleneck with gtx 970 (the 8320 I mean)

JAR1337 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 30 months ago

I've never had an issue. It plays almost all of my games at 60+ fps with high to ultra setting. Keep in mind though that I don't play to many new aaa titles.

neilreyes 1 point 30 months ago

How is it on high spec mmos like tera, rift etc

JAR1337 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 30 months ago

Sry I haven't played any of those, if they are free I could download them and see. It may take me a day or two. I am at work right now, and depending on the size of the file, the download might take me a while. Also are you talking about at 1080 or 1440 res?

JAR1337 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 30 months ago

Ok so I was able to start the download from work, but it will take a few days to get results. My internet is pretty slow and those were some big *** games.

neilreyes 1 point 30 months ago

Haha ok thanks! and its for 1080p gaming. Id really like to know how it performs in an area where there is a whole bunch of players, like mass pvp. Which game are you downloading btw? Keep me posted! :)

JAR1337 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 30 months ago

I am downloading both of them but Tera is first in the que, ill have to downscale to 1080p but that shouldn't be a problem, hell I'll let you know how it works on both.

marblecaek 1 point 30 months ago

shame the DVD drive ruins the aesthetics. ask yourself, do you really need it?

JAR1337 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 30 months ago

If I could have found the face plate that was supposed to be there I would have takin the optical drive out and put it aside for a htpc (it's a bluray drive after all).

Xequit10 1 point 30 months ago

Where is the Resovoir?

iLLAYT 1 point 30 months ago

Awesome! this is pure awesome! and i see the snes in the back of one of the pics omg ah... good times..

mandarinrock 1 point 30 months ago

looks great great parts but when you're going for the price range just really put it in with an 8350 or 8370 the 8320 is a little weak for a build like that but just a suggestion it should work perfectly as it is already

JAR1337 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 30 months ago

Keep in mind that is was mainly a cosmetic upgrade, with only a few parts being new GPU/SSD/Monitor/PSU everything else was built over a year and a half ago before I had found PCPP. Otherwise for the budget I would of built something a little bit different. For now the 8320 suits all my needs, when it gets to the point were it becomes a bottleneck I won't hesitate to upgrade. Thanks for the feedback tho

foolishpaul 1 Build 1 point 30 months ago

Dude seriously? Like i just built my gf a pc and if she see this and is gonna kill me if i dont make this.

Syline 1 point 30 months ago

Does it run on pure turtle power?

JAR1337 submitter 5 Builds 3 points 30 months ago

I have to feed it a slice of pizza every now and again XD

xolot1 1 Build 1 point 30 months ago

wow! amazing visionary work, congrats! I just purchased the same PSU as you. How did you figure out sleeving them? There's a small "pill" looking thing at the end of a couple of the wires and was wondering if you kept it or removed it when you were sleeving the cables.

JAR1337 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 30 months ago

Hmm, I don't remember any pill like thing. But all I did was cut the zip tie through the heat shrink at both ends of the cable. Then I ran a pair of scissors up the black sleeving that it came with, careful not to cut any wires (also over a trash can). I used a pin removal tool I bought off of Amazon to remove each cable. Only remove one cable at a time and run a twist tie through it, bend both ends to mark which whole it came out of, these cables are not straight they are tangled as fk, and you need to make sure to put them back in the same orientation they came out. Once I removed a cable I would measure a length of paracord ( you can use something like a sleeving kit would provide) melted the ends so they wouldn't fray and heat shrieked them to the end.

Sry for any run on sentences, I'm on my phone at work. Hope that this gelped, if you have any more questions let me know.

thekasafist 1 Build 1 point 30 months ago

Oh dude dude dude, paint the top of the case like a sewer grate.

CrimsonYeti 1 point 29 months ago

Does the C70 case come with the drive bays and drive slots? Or do I have to buy them seperately?

JAR1337 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 29 months ago

It comes with two drive bays and enough mounts to mount 6 3.5"/2.5" hdd/ssd. I just took one out for better airflow.

CrimsonYeti 1 point 29 months ago

God thank you so much. I'm gonna work on getting my build.

Nasaan 1 Build 1 point 28 months ago

What stopped you from being able to do a push/pull config on the 100i?

I love the idea of your build and the way it came together.

My next build is going to be in this case, I think.

JAR1337 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 28 months ago

There wasn't enough clearance from the top of the case and the motherboard (the bottom fans were hitting the clips for the ram). Sorry it took me so long to respond, I was outta town on vacation.

Kingbee 1 point 20 months ago

What voltage do you have the CPU set at?

JAR1337 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 20 months ago

1.296v, any more than that it would crash on me. keep in mind that if you are trying to overclock your cpu to the same to work up to that. Don't just start there.

norden91 1 Build 1 point 20 months ago

Never seen so many colors going so well together.... this is seriously awesome, mate!

Thanks, I just wish I could of showed Donatello a little more love.

Retroman 2 points 30 months ago

Leonardo is the one that's lacking :) that's OK though, everyone seemed to love him the most because he was always kind of like the "leader" and wielded dual swords but Raphael was always my favorite! a true bad ***!

JAR1337 submitter 5 Builds 1 point 30 months ago

True Leo didn't get much love :(, but at least the cpu cables come out the front, Donnies cables are mostly in the back DX. That was what I was mostly referring too, I did want to give them all equal colors but I thought that a themed area would make more sense.

mlach 4 Builds 1 point 30 months ago

Any plans to get Splinter into the mix?

JAR1337 submitter 5 Builds 2 points 30 months ago

eh, you know they say, when it comes to art less is more. I wasn't sure were I could incorporate him without making everything else look kinda weird. Do you have any suggestions on what and where I could put something?
