Description

New Gaming PC.

I decided to build all new, as my old Rig was built in 2012. I went all top of the line spec wise to get ahead of the curve. Build went great, except for the DOA power supply. RMAing it with New Egg. It was built with a Corsair TX650 from my old PC, that was still working great.

This is replacing a i5 3350p and GTX 660........

I also took my Samsung 850 EVO 1 TB SSD out of my old PC, so the new Rig has the 960 EVO 500 GB M.2 in PCI-x4, 850 EVO 1 TB in SATA, WD Black 2 TB in SATA, and a WD My Drive 4 TB USB 3.0 external.....Mass Storage for the win.

Once set up and running.....FAST. I thought that SSD's were fast..........M.2 all the way. Even with BIOS set to wait 2 seconds on post for interrupt key presses, 3.5 seconds from post beep to windows 10 login.

Was torn on the Monitor for the build. Coming from a 22 inch 720p Screen anything would have been better. Looked at the true Gaming monitors, but price for features were not much better than the LG. Didn't need 1440p 2k for gaming, and the LG does 144hz. G-sync monitors are mostly limited to 100hz at the price of the non G-sync LG. I chose super high refresh rate over that..........and Amazon had it on sale for $400 at the time.

Was torn on the whole RGB thing, but if in for a penny in for a pound. I like how it turned out.

Questions or comments welcome

I'll Work on that. I had a dead on arrival power supply, and had to build it with my 5 year old Corsair TX650. RMAing the new one with New Egg and will update new picts as soon as possible.

I'm thinking of getting that monitor. How do you like it?

So far it is great. I have it set to 144hz through the Display Port, and everything I run it through looks great. Super high refresh rate for the win, even without G-sync.

Nice build, why aircooling with the K version? Seems as if you could have spent less on the ram and thrown a water cooler in there. Either way looks great.

I thought about it......The fancy new Cooler Master MA610P is basically an updated version of the Hyper 212, and that worked on mild overclocks. So far all I've done is unlock all core's to run @ 4.7 on the boost. It idles @ 31c in windows, and I ran Assassin's Creed Origins for almost 4.5 hrs last night and never got above 42c. It also looks really good with all the other RGB Lighting.

I heard about this cooler and now I'm torn between this and the Cryorig Quad Lumi. How was working with the software? Great to hear about your temps as well, and great build!

Those temps sound nice. Mind if I ask what was the usual ambient temperature of your room when you tested it?

nice build!!!! hey, how the ram clearance in this air cooling.,, i see you use 4 stick taller ram..

Stock ram clearance......bad. I did a little "creative" modification to the fan shroud on that side and the clearance is just enough now.

Please tell me what ''creative'' modification you did on the fan to get the clearance. Because your build is pretty much the same that I'm trying to build.

What did you do with your fan set up intake vs exhaust

Yes. Works with its own RGB controller or as I have it hooked up through the motherboard controller.
