I started this build early september 2014 and I didn't know where I wanted to go. At first I was thinking a cutsom water loop. hence the graphics card change (at stock it performs the same as the STRIX which it was why is was selected). The GTX 980 Posiden is a great card but I will soon ditch it for a GTX 980Ti. I dont think the water block card is of any use to me as I have the silverstone AIO cooler.

When building it it seemed awkward at points, routing the tubing of the AIO and cable management though I tried to keep the cables as short as possible when they came out the grommits. Most of the cables are in the bottom as a lot of people place them there. I've been using this build for the last few months but actually had a CM212Evo as the cooler and it would cook my room up alot. Good winter radiator tbh.

The RAM is slightly different but I couldn't find it. I have 4x4GB clocked at 3000mhz and it performs like a monster! I Highly suggest it. For the price its so much better, just a tad ugly.

There will be a desk update soon which is when I will post more pictures.

Part Reviews

Best CPU I have ever used, not the best at overclocking however.

CPU Cooler

keeps my cpu at a frost bitten 25c. Rose to 35c under full load for around 2 hours.

Good but could be better, the bios seem to be awkward though the EZ tune feature is nice.

Sick RAM, works as intended.

FAST AS GOD HIMSELF, I'm not sure how the 750 Series can beat these.

Good mechanical drive. Kinda loud in my case but it's fine. Amazon's delivery on these has shoddy packaging, beware.

Corsair need better quality control as I needed to fix a couple of things but nothing the realest of real -HH-'s can't deal with! Superb none the less.

had to send the first one back due to the whole thing going dead (white on everything) second monitor is the crispest monitor I have ever used.

Corsair did an RMA on my old which was no longer available but much the same great keyboard and with metal keycaps it looks smexy!

Everything you could wish for in a set of cans.

How comfortable are those headphones on a scale of 1-10? I was thinking about getting a pair. Also can't wait for the pictures :D

It may be a while till I get more pictures by the way. I Need to get a better camera tbh the iPhone 5's camera is kinda shoddy. I have a couple of other pictures on progression of when it was just built with the CM212Evo. The looks of the PC has only gotten good over the last couple of weeks. I am also getting a new desk to fit the 900D onto so I will most likely take pictures with the iPhone when that happens as a 'holder'

Cool stuff.

Are you using a dac/amp? If so, which one?

-HH- submitter 1 Build 1 point 45 months ago

Sorry, editing build now. Creative Soundblaster ZxR. It's pretty good and you can definitely hear the difference when you change the EQ which is actually really nice.

Before you say I need an analogue amp, it actually boots to 600 ohm impedance and does a really good job!

Just out of curiosity, did you only give the RAM a 4-star because of it's ugliness? I was thinking of getting that one myself (will benefit a Skylake motherboard best so I hear), but hoping it preforms well and is worth the price.

-HH- submitter 1 Build 1 point 41 months ago

Yeah, I was thinking more for general purpose. Lucky for me I have a liquid cooler so clearance isn't a problem. I used to find it ugly but it's actually really grown on me now. For the general user usnig an aircooler 4 stars but for me its an ez 5 stars

How long have you been using the silverstone cpu cooler? I bought the same knowing it's not the best in terms of temperatures, but it gets the job done and the attention to detail shows a good build quality, but I'm thinking if I should not return it for a more long term reliability in heatsink air cooler with only the fans to worry about instead of pump failing of potential leaking. What's your opinion on it? Thanks and cheers man

-HH- submitter 1 Build 2 points 41 months ago

I've been using it around 6 months now, it's quite good really. I have ammended it with some Scythe fans which are silent. Honestly I got it for the looks too (besides I wanted something different). I 100% recommend it.

hyperlystic 1 point 34 months ago

I know its off topic but do you know if the CPU cooler will work with FM2+?

-HH- submitter 1 Build 1 point 34 months ago

not off topic at all!

Compatible with socket LGA775/115X/1366/2011/2011-v3/AM2/AM3/FM1/FM

Preecision 1 point 33 months ago

does the cpu cooler come with thermal compound on it already? i like the snowflake :D

-HH- submitter 1 Build 1 point 33 months ago

it's not pre-applied but it does come with some thermal compound. However I used Silver MX5

2xdynamic 1 point 19 months ago

did you actually spend more on your headphones than your video card

-HH- submitter 1 Build 1 point 19 months ago

Don't have those headphones anymore, I should update it,

I'm now using Monoprice M1060's wit an ASUS Essence ONE DAC, so yeah!
