Description

So here it it my finished Gaming Rig :) The i5-4690k runs at 4.2 Ghz Turbo under load without manual oc. The 3d Mark Firestrike Score is the Single Gpu and not the Extreme Multi-Gpu Test. Just for some examples i run Watch Dogs on Ultra with 60-80 fps and the same goes for BF4 on Ultra.

Update #1 Just ordered the Asus Rog Matrix GTX 780 Ti Platinum getting it next week lets see how that works out. It will permanently replace my GTX 780 AMP! Edition.

Comments are appreciated :)

Nice build, and finally someone that went with air cooling thank you. I see to many corsair all in one liquid coolers.

Aren't they quite expensive? And why is 3 $10 fans not enough? :D

GMAN-DV8 1 Build 1 point 38 months ago

ya somewhat, but i just prefer air coolers

How is the G710+ doing?

Gotta love how everyone is like "who would pay $100 for a plastic case" when its mostly metal XD complains before they buy... Bought this case, and I think its awesome! Can't really compare, since this is my first build ever, and I've never owned another case, let alone other parts, but so far, no issues! :P

Pretty good build. There are a couple things I would change here, mostly just brand choices. I would've probably gotten a different case at your price (the NZXT Source 530 and Fractal Design Define R4 come to mind) for greater expandability, better airflow, and better aesthetics. Also, I would've gotten a different brand of video card, probably MSI since their 780 ti is cheaper and runs more quiet and cooler than the zotac. Still a very nice build for a first-timer, and a definite +1 from me.

Actually I must say the case is doing pretty well once i get my second fan on the front and top to have the complete case fan'd. The Airflow is not that good but I'll fix that somehow. The space in the case is actually really good for a midi. Everything on the case is metal except the top and front panels. the ti nearly costs 50% more than my gpu and mine benchmarks nearly as well.

If I were you I'd make your second build in a case from NZXT, Corsair, Fractal, Phanteks, or another good brand, and you'll be blown away by how smoothly the build will go. I worked in my old dell prebuild case doing some upgrades, and I thought it was sturdy and had good airflow, until I bought my NZXT Source 530 and saw how much easier it was to work in, how much more solid it felt, and how much cooler it kept components. You won't know what you're missing until you build in a good case.

I have no faith in raidmax whatsoever as a brand. They sent HardwareCanucks a review sample and it was so terribly built that the frame bent while they were building in it. If their review samples are so bad, I wonder how terrible the quality control is on their average case bought by a consumer. That said, if I could buy any case right now for $100, it'd be the phanteks enthoo pro.

30 on idle with that cooler k den

BurgerBum 1 point 44 months ago

thats.... about average ._. if it was like 35 or higher i'd worry, but considering the fan it comes with, 30 at idle on an intel proc is pretty damn good.

also consider ambient air temps and time of year. in my bedroom winter is about 30 degrees colder than autumn or spring. (**** summer man... t(>_>)t )
