I'm no water cooling expert but the actual straight (plastic) tubes look a lot cleaner and I think would of made this build look a lot more high end. Also don't like the purple (Edit: im colorblind... it looks purple in one picture I swear) but hey, its not mine... though I'd still like it xD. Good job.

The "straight" tubes are acrylic, they have to be warmed with a hair dryer in order to be bent, so they are more complicated to work with. I agree, they look cooler most of the time, but they are trickier to position. But his build does look really really good and unique.

Plastic or acrylic would have been nice, but didn't want that in my system. The purple appears purple due to the flash of my camera. I don't own a high end camera. My camera= Nexus 5 Ha.

$350 for the paint job? Looks worth it, this thing is a beast.

It was a lengthy process to get that done, but it was absolutely worth it.

Why an older i7 extreme? If I were you I would have bought a newer CPU. Any explanation for it?

+1 for the awesome paint job

  • 1 point

Already owned the 3930k. To date, this CPU performs as well as anything I use it for.

Did you build that desk? If so I followed the same plan.

I did build the desk. I could put up images of that process too.

Amazing build as is, however it would look amazing if you set up the gpu part of the loop in a parallel config.

  • 1 point

Parallel config is just not my thing. While it might appear aesthetically better to some, it's not my "cup of tea"

  • 1 point

Fair enough.

  • 1 point

OK just how the F*** did you paint that

  • 2 points

By listening to Sandstorm by Darude repeat for 24hrs. Haha. Kidding

I sent the system out for paint as I did not want to mess anything up on my own. Was worth the investment.

Well, it is my build and actually not against the terms of service to do so. Why not take advantage or free advertising?

This is an amazing build Price is more than I would ever pay for 5 of my systems, but who am I to say anything when it looks and performs so great! Wish I could +1 this twice.

  • 1 point

Haha. Yeah it was quite a bit.

  • 1 point

Amazing build, I just think that case is too ugly XD

  • 1 point

The case itself or the paint choice?

  • 1 point

Paint. Case is amazing. I don't understand why people seem to choose Loud colors for cases and Case fans because it looks "cool". I have a friend that spend like 6,000 on a computer and it looks very ugly (a mix of strange colors) and I hate loud colors in general.

I don't think my camera does the paint just. It literally is a deep blue. The images show it being much lighter due to the lighting and my camera (nexus 5 phone)

I had to fap one out after checking this thang out. Sick stuff man.

where did you get ur case custom painted?

  • 1 point

I Love the build, especially because you did so much custom work on it from the paint to the desk , and as someone who does a lot of woodwork, I must say that your desk is beautiful. Wonderful craftsmanship, +1 for sure!

It really was a pleasure and hatred for the build. Some of the runs for the tubes were infuriating lol. Thanks for the feedback.

I actually had one purchased before then, but had to return it because the miter wasn't holding zero at all. Even after all of my balances. And yes, the frame rates are high and the temps are super low.
