Description

ManMachine is my first ever PC build, the idea came to me one day last summer and since then I've been biding my time and doing as much research as I can. There were many obstacles to overcome, most of them were budget related. It started with a really insanely high budget, which produced a 4k gaming machine, however since my father was financing the whole thing we came to blows. Eventually I came to this build here, I wanted to keep it small so as to be able to move it around somewhat. The goal of this build is to be able to run games at the highest settings, something that's not been a problem thus far. I'd also intended to stream and edit videos which is where the i7 comes in handy, also for that epeen. I built this in the UAE so some prices were cheaper and some were actually more expensive but it evened out.

Part Reviews

Video Card

Silent, over clocks like a champion, runs everything I throw at it in 2560x1080. Fantastic card and looks sick as hell. Comes with a nice solid backplate and a custom black PCB. All this makes the card a joy to own.

Case

Great case, fits everything I need, a bit bigger than I expected but that's not a problem. The build quality is great, feels solid and nice.

Monitor

Great monitor, great colours. Not much else to say about it.

Keyboard

Great keyboard, the orange switches aren't too different from browns and its a great typing experience. Don't use synapse often if at all so I can't take off points for that.

Mouse

Great mouse, however it creaks and makes noise when I press on it. Seems build quality isn't as great as it should be, but its been a champ thus far.

Are some of your photos sideways...? It's kinda hard to see in such an angle. I would probably be shock if I had my father helped spending a whole $2k of this caliber. I could see something like two hundred or three hundred but not the entire rig. Maybe he had a reason to butt heads with ya? :P

Forgot to mention, he paid for the PC itself only. All peripherals including the monitors and mouse pad were paid for by yours truly. Most of these photos were snapchats that I saved and uploaded directly from my phone.

Oh OK! That's fair enough, and I see. Anyway to rotate the ones that appear sideways, maybe? If not no biggie. Enjoy your new rig, it has great parts!

We're decently well off thanks to his immense dedication to his work. Him and I have been pretty interested in technology since he moved out of his small farming town, so it was more of an endavour for the both of us. It's been a great investment. 31 months later and the thing still runs like a dream :)

Which one? The ultrawide is great my only regret is that I didn't wait a bit and spring for the 27 inch one. Although its not a big deal. My other gripe is that 2560x1080 isnt a popular resolution so some games don't work on it, namely heroes of the storm and hearthstone, diablo 3 has a couple workarounds though. Another thing is that the 970 while great for 1920x1080 has a bit of trouble at 2560x1080, and its evident in benchmarks. Very happy with it overall though, great colours, although I'd recommend springing for the 27 inch or even the 32 3440xwhatever especially since the 27 inch isn't that much more expensive while increasing size a lot.

Yeah I was wondering about the Ultra Wide, I am considering the 27" or 29" one. I've heard that the R9 390 might perform a bit better with the bigger resolutions/screens. So we'll see how it goes!

I bought it in the UAE and it was bundled with the motherboard as I haggled with the salesman due to running out of money. I'd say 1500-1600 AED but I got it and the motherboard (~600 AED) for 2000 AED. If you want the price in dollars or etc I'd just go to Amazon or newegg.
