Description

My build, with and unintentional white colour theme with red accents. It started out as a FX-8370 system with an R9 390. Over the years, it has morphed into this - a mishmash of parts from various places. I also found a rubber spider somewhere that I decided to chuck in there as well.

Part Reviews

CPU

Nice and fast! The Wraith Stealth cooler is quiet and capable, as I am not doing any overclocking.

Thermal Compound

It was cheap. It works fine.

Motherboard

At the time of purchase, this was the cheapest B450 motherboard on the market. I regret this decision. NO VRM heatsinks, 2 RAM slots (RIP upgrade path), and the socket is weirdly rotated 90?.

Memory

The first kit they sent me was DOA. So I had to RMA it to the US, which was a huge hassle. Also, the RGB wave effect is quite significantly off-sync, no matter what I know. But since I am just leaving it on plain white, it doesn't really matter.

Storage

Fast and speedy, and big enough for most of my games.

Storage

Salvaged from an old laptop, so free I guess. Pretty quiet under load.

Storage

Very loud whirring noises while transferring data, but hasn't failed yet, so that's good I guess.

Video Card

Amazing. Got it for cheap on Black Friday. Looks awesome, and the ACX 2.0 cooling system keeps it quiet and chilled.

Case

In reality, I should have stuck with my previous Thermaltake Urban S41 case. This has a noisy fan and almost no cable management room. Also, the front USB 2.0 port doesn't work. Not the greatest.

Power Supply

Was cheap when I bought it, does what I need it to, matches the colour scheme, and hasn't blown up yet.

Operating System

Pretty much your only option if PC gaming. Pretty stable, haven't had any major crashes.

Case Fan

They have bright LEDs, blow air well, but MAN these things are loud. Like, leaf-blower level. They are not PWM so I don't really have a way of controlling that.

Case Fan

From my old Thermaltake Urban S41 case. They move less air, but are much quieter than those Corsair ones.

Monitor

Amazing. Buttery smooth framerates and a glorious QHD resolution. I highly recommend this monitor.

Keyboard

My first mechanical keyboard. It's excellent. Nice springy firm MX blue switches, non-software-dependant RGB, and it even came with red keycaps.

Mouse

It feels nice in my hand, and RGB is nice. Rubber side grips, not plastic, would have been nice though.

Headphones

Crystal clear sound. I honestly forget that I am wearing them, they are so incredibly comfortable. The RGB is also a nice touch.

Speakers

Garbage honestly. They sound awful and sound only comes out

Oh hi. Yeah I used to have a water cooler for my old FX-8370 but when I upgraded the Kraken X31 didn't come with mounting hardware for AM4. So I just sold it along with the other stuff.
