This is my gaming rig. I also use it for light video editing.

Good build but it seems like you overpaid for your ssd and hard drive. You can get a 250ish gigabyte ssd for about 100 diollars and a hard drive for 50-60 dollars

I really liked the Corsair Neutron SSDs and I already had the 1TB HDD from another build.

makes sense I guess. Still pretty pricey, even for barely over a year ago though. In the meantime, I've actually built my own PC and my 256GB SSD only cost like $80, and i've seen it on sale for 65 before. It's still a nice build though, hope it holds up for you for a long time!

Why not wait until you have your GTX 980 to post this build?

Because I was proud of my build? I don't know lol

mine is better, especially for that price range

I wouldn't bother with the 8350 for a build with this kind of budget, but it's still pretty solid (or at least it will be). +1

I do think that you seriously overpaid for your storage. You can get the same amount of storage for about $150 or so, and the speed of the HDD is irrelevant anyway.

He probaby didn't pay that much for the SSD & HDD :P. It was most likely taken from an old build or obtained it from a friend or something like that.

I already had the HDD from another build and I wanted to go with Corsair everything for this build. I also already had the motherboard so I didn't want to shell out more money for an Intel board.

CPU might not have enough single-core performance for a gaming rig - an i5 would perform better in most games, but 8350 isn't the worst choice if you have a personal preference for AMD. Looks great though! +1

I don't really have a preference either way towards intel or AMD, I just chose AMD because I had the Motherboard already.

I would have gone with a cheaper SSD and HDD as well as a cheaper case. I would have also just bought a 2x4 kit instead of getting 16GB if this is just for gaming. Personal preference though. Hope you enjoy your 980 once it comes :)

Thanks. I wanted the 16GB because I do some video editing once in a while, so it would make the render times much faster.

It looks like you overpaid a bit for the ssd, and I probably would have gone with a i7, you'd get max performance combined with your gpu

I really liked the Corsair SSDs.

May I ask why you went with that HDD and SSD?

I already had the HDD and I like the corsair SSDs.
