Description

I wish I could give a better picture, my phone got dropped and it killed the camera, had to borrow my kids phone to get a pic.

Just upgraded to the 1002 BIOS, got the Ram up to 3200 by just setting the speed to 3200

Haven't worked on the CPO OC yet, letting the BIOS get caught up. And since I am going from a 1st gen i7 to this beast.....it is fast enough :)

Took a while to get the Mobo in, allot of us were in the same boat. All items were purchased from Amazon expect the motherboard, Newegg had some in stock.

The build went pretty easy. Ended up placing the rad fans ABOVE the top of the case and the rad below with the fans set to suck air thru the rad. I plan on getting a RGB fan for the side panel and 2x rgb led strips.

I had the 0902(which was the new BIOS at the time of the build) ready on a thumb drive, I flashed it once it was built and it posted with zero issues, OS install also went well.

This thing is QUIET, compared to my last rig, so quiet I tend to look over to see if the fans are still spinning :)

Part Reviews

CPU

AMD is back! - So far no issues with this CPU - Blazing fast and more cores than you can shake a stick at

CPU Cooler

Was a tad tricky with this case, I had to put the fans in the top area above the case proper and the rad underneath with the fans sucking air thru the rad.

It works.

CPU running nice and cool.

Motherboard

I will not dock any stars over the delay to receive this.

Easy to install, the locations of the port & connections are good. BIOS updates are coming out and as of today was able to get my ram to run @ 3200. Planning on getting 2x RGB LED strips :)

Looks nice in the case.

Memory

Look great as of today was able to get them to run @ 3200 with a BIOS update.

Wish I could sync the LEDS to the motherboard. But they still look nice.

Storage

Going from a 1st gen i7 and a 7200 rpm Boot HD to this.....NIGHT & DAY ! ! !

This drive is fast. It is so nice to boot in under 10 seconds! So nice for apps to just POP up and run.

Storage

Big fat storage drive for media. It works.

Video Card

Takes all the games I have with full settings on high.

Case

I wanted a white case, don't ask why. It looks nice. The fans that came with are very quiet. I like the LED on the back panel so you can see when you connect things.

I'm happy with it :)

Power Supply

MODULAR BABY!

The install was made easier by this PSU. Once you go full modular, you don't go back.

Operating System

Bill Gates got his $ from me.

Win 10 is a huge step above Win 8.1 my last rig was running Win 7

It installed, its legit. And it hasn't crashed yet. That's a plus....right?

Monitor

Looks great. The control button at the bottom works very well for switching from input to input.

Keyboard

I am having fun with this. Programming my own LED settings.

Typing is real nice on this, a full mechanical keyboard. Gaming is nice too. You KNOW if you clicked the key or not.

Mouse

I might get a different mouse, at times it feels too small for my hand. My had size is not larger than a standard adult male and there is no way my thumb is going to be dexterous enough to hit those buttons closer to the back of the mouse.

Speakers

Sounds goods, looks good and it wasn't too expensive either.

This is making me so excited - I got my 1800X and CHIV sitting on my desk too. Are you planning to keep the GTX 1080 or switch to Vega at release?

AMD claims to have the same memory speed in a 4GB Vega as a 11GB 1080 ti

Depends.

I might be building a rig for my kid soon, he might get the 1080 if the Vega turns out to be as advertised. But for the most part I blew my financial wad on this build, it will have to keep for a bit.

valve time is something in the gaming community where valve says they're going to release something, and then it takes much longer than they said

+1 just for the nice reference game going on in the name.

Also, as another proud owner of an NZXT 530, I can certainly second the supreme noiselessness. Especially when coming from a Rosewill Challenger and a Phenom II X6 from a build that started back in like 2011.

I have to borrow a camera, I dropped my Sammy S7 Edge and the camera died.

I have two older HPO 1903 4:3 monitors, I placed one at each side of the UIltra Wide LG.

I got a smile on my face :-) acres of screen space

Hey great build! Did the aio come with the am4 bracket for the ryzen CPU?

The motherboard has holes for AM4 so I didn't have to wait for a special bracket.
