Description

Rig built mainly for 1440p gaming and some media workload. Upgraded over the years to fit my needs.

Currently waiting until the enermax AIO dies, prob gonna start working on a custom loop. The GPU is currently being cooled by Accelero IV.

Part Reviews

CPU

Upgraded from i7-4790K, basically double the performance in video rendering.

CPU Cooler

One LED on the pump died and not it looks kinda washed up. Don't really expect much from cheap AIO cooling solution, I expect it to die soon due to galvanic corrosion as it's over 2 years old now.

Thermal Compound

Used for my previous delided i7-4790K.

Thermal Compound

You can never go wrong with MX-4

Motherboard

The rear IO is rather disapointing, as well as the USB 3.0 internal connector being located on the bottom instead of being under the 24-pin power connector being angled at 90°. Collides with bottom intake fans. 2 of the sata connectors are also completely way off where they would really be. Only few fan headers.

Storage

Surprisingly very reliable and well performing ssd.

Storage

I had two of these, I had to RMA one after 1 year and the 2nd one after a week. I guess I've been unlucky with samsung.

Video Card

Fans usually die before the gpu ages obsolete. Using accelero IV solution instead while keeping the temps under 55°C in load.

Case

Great case, too bad you cannot fit bigger air cooling units in it.

Mouse

Lightweight non driver dependent mouse is all I care about.

You picked the wrong kit in pcpartpicker, yours is 16-19-19-39, while the kit you picked is 16-16-16-36
