Description

Wow, what a 6 months it has been in terms of setup progress. In case you missed my first post, right when i built my pc, I'd say my setup was a clean 6-7/10, not its a flawless 9.5. Seriously guys im at a loss for words lol. Pls feel free to ask questions about the desk/anything you are curious about.

Here's the original post

Look for sales! newegg sometimes you can make some crazy savings, also watch youtubers like joey delgado or techsources budget build. I wouldn't cheap out on the graphics card, but make sure you dont cheap out on other parts too. I would start off by making a part list, around 1k and then tweaking parts as you do more research.

cheers

Rgb strip along the wall ruins it should hide it along the desk to give it that ambient glow & or move the map or whatever it is higher or switch it out with the nano leaves. Moving the cables behind the alex drawer would look better also consider tying the mouse & keeb cable together

thanks for the advice man. I unfortunately screwed up as I have 2 30 ft led strips running around my room, and i cut theconnection so am forced to connect the strips right where they are, making it impossible to hide the cables :(. Im building a custom keyboard next week, and will be getting a custom coiled paracord cable for it. I also prefer the nanoleafs above my bed (next to setup) because I personally can't game with bright light shining in my face, and I find it is just far enough away to not bother me.

Nice setup and nice improvement.

Id say this a flawless 9.5/10 because like NVIDIA i think the last .5GB is absolute trash.

What do you mean?

Several years ago when the NVIDIA GTX 970 was relased it was advertised with 4GB of VRAM but functionally only had 3.5GB of VRAM and NVIDIA was sued for millions and paid each GTX 970 user $30.

Here's an article talking about it

Yes but I think that’s gone now like isn’t he using a gtx 1080ti? Also he has plenty of GPU ram. (11 GB) And I like Nvidia more as their software and display settings are much better. I have both AMD and Nvidia GPUs. (RX 580 8gb & RTX 2080)

It was just a simple reference to one of many of NVIDIA's history of blunders. I did not mean that his 1080ti shorted 0.5GB of VRAM ( i know all 1080ti's have 11GB of VRAM because I've owned 2 and it was not the case for both

Yes but I think that’s gone now

Nope i know that anyone that bought a GTX 970 before the controversy surfaced still only has 3.5GB of VRAM to this day.

you can't just download RAM, right?

If this is the case it doesn't really affect me, but its useful info if you're buying a 3gb card i guess.

How’s the monitor?

  • 1 point

It's the only monitor I've ever used so don't really have a benchmark to compare it to. I think it is great, but to give an in depth review I'd have to try out a different monitor to see how it compares. for 380$ or whatever it costs right now though, 1440p 165hz gsync...this monitor is pretty much unbeatable price wise.

Yeah I might pick up two like you did and calibrate them because I’ve heard that the dell gaming monitors are really washed out. Thanks.

Hey in your setup are the front fans sucking air into the case through the radiator or are they sucking air out? Cheers.
