Build

The Duke

by ExtraChrisB

Description

I use this PC everyday for gaming and streaming and it is a beast. I haven't had any problems with it so far and putting everything together was a breeze, just like the airflow this case provides. Leading to one of my few cons or complaints in this build with the fact that there is so much airflow that dust accumulates fast, but the convenient dust filters make it easy to maintain. The hinged see through side panel is nice for ease of cleaning as well, although it will collect fingerprints very noticeably. Only inconvenience I had with the build process was deciding cable management for the stock AMD Wraith Prism cooler. Overall a very clean and satisfying build to work with.

Great build and part selection. Why did you go with the vengeance rgb and not the rgb pro?

If I remember correct the only reason I went with the Vengeance rgb was price difference. I was trying to save money were I could on the build. If they would have been same price I would have gone with the Pro.

i know you probably built this a while ago and the rtx series was propably not released. but just to the other people maybe wanting to build this go with a 2080 instead.

BTW good pc looks very nice probobly gona do something that looks like this

yes, I built just before RTX cards came out, and GPU prices were fluctuating like crazy. So my dilemma was wait for RTX not knowing specs, or try to find a good 10 series card on sale. The 1080 GPU I eventually went with was on sale for just under $500 so I had to get it since I didn't want to wait for RTX tech to become integrated in all of the games I like to play. If you are looking to build a similar rig today (Jan. 2019) I would definitely go with a 2080 card since the 1080s have gone back up in price again, 20 series cards are not bad bang for the buck if you are looking for powerful rig.
