Description

update added 2 more sticks of g.skill, and purchased a delta rgb ssd. Both shown in first picture.

update swapped out my ugly 24 pin connector for a white one to match.

I created this build to play PUBG and FAR CRY 5 at 2k resolution @ 144hz maxed settings.

This thing is SUUUPER fast! Boot time on the SSD is less then 4s. Runs silent and cold! Looks BEAUTIFUL! benchmarked the system and got "UFO" ratings on all areas of the build.

Nzxt case blew me away! The deepcool water pump was easy to install and looks great! Works Great!

G.Skills RAM is best in class!

The Rysen CPU overclocked from 3.4- 3.7 without touching voltage. 1658 rating on Cinabench

Went from playing on a 1080p 32" tv @ 60hz to my Dell 27" 2k monitor @ 144hz. MAN!!! I didn't know what I was missing.

Build looks fantastic! If you have issues with your monitor turning on when you turn your PC on from either off/sleep, the monitor sometimes comes with the deep sleep feature enabled, turn that off in the menu and it will fix. :)

I do have that issue! Thanks brother! Cleaned that right up. Cheers!

Of course my man! I always try to recommend that. Frustrated me for the longest time. Idk why they think it's a good idea to enable that feature. Trolls. LOL

I have the same MOBO, did you get decent sound settings? Mine sounds dead and hollow no matter how I tweak Sonic Studio 3.

what are you using for output? headphones? speakers? im using razer kraken headphones, and it sounds good to me.

Nicely done, I'd suggest turning the SSD around but I understand you'd have to get a new sticker then or live without it ^ ^ . Also, 2k means a lot of things but I would not use it as a substitute for 1440p, coz it's just not, cheers :) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2K_resolution

I would have loved to have the ssd turned that way. However, that opening you see has 2 mechanical hardrives in it. There is absolutely NO space lol.

When I say 2k, I mean it as in DCI 2k (native resolution) 2048x1080.

Thanks for the response and yeah, I see, makes sense why you didn't turn it around then :) Also, I am kinda intrigued as to why would you go with such a cinema specific resolution on a pc then? Do you just let the monitor scale it? But that would look blurry on an 1440p lcd monitor unless you won't scale it and let it have black letterboxes around.

How loud is the gpu at idle and load?

  • 1 point

it's silent. I never hear it, even under load. It runs pubg at 98%-100% for hoooours and temps peg at 80 (with ocing). If I manually turn the fans on full blast, its pretty loud, so this is going to boil down to its environment. With the water cooled CPU, the heat that the cpu generates is moved to the radiator, then out of the case, unlike say a fan cpu cooler where it is transferred away from the CPU, but still blown inside the case ( to be absorbed by other components ).

Awesome build!, coincidentally, I am currently building my first custom pc and bought nearly identical parts, the only parts i have yet to buy are the graphics card and ram (coincidentally identical again) and i couldn't find a clear description of that card's cooling/overclocking capabilities, could you clear some of that up for me? Also since you have a nearly identical build, how's the overall performance?

p.s. AWESOME LIGHTING

The card stays cool, and has a single fan for cooling. I used evga's overclocking software and have been able to get go about 30% increase on the stock clocks. The build runs better then expected. the only thing holding it back is GPU. Even tho it performs great, its slowly become out dated.
