Description

After a month of preparation and research I'm glad i finished my first PC build ever (hella expensive >_<) But hey, it was worth it :)

I wanted to do a black and gold theme. I didn't even know that it was this hard to find a Gold color for my parts :/

Anyway this PC is mainly for gaming and i had been itching to make my own PC from scratch and this is the finished product.

CPU: I chose i5-4960k cause you know its for gaming most of the time.

CPU Cooler: I chose the H240-X I want to make a custom loop with it and its really cheap than buying a separate reservoir and pump plus it saves a lot of space and it uses 2 140mm fans.

Thermal Compound: I used Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Compound cause it has a lot of great reviews about it and you need it lol

Motherboard: I chose Z97-A cause of the 5-way optimization and the color of the board. It looks like brown but in reality you won't notice it plus the gold color of the chipset and heatsinks :)

Memory: Corsair Vengeance 16gb. Its black because didn't know that there was a gold color of it. 16gb only cause you don't need that much while gaming in my opinion.

SSD/HDD: I chose Samsung 840 EVO 250GB cause it has a lot of great reviews of it and its really cheap. I'm so happy that i bought it! :D My HDD is from my old computer.

Graphics Cards: I chose GTX 660 Ti 3GB Superclocked+ cause I already have one from my old Cyberpower PC and so I decided to buy another one and SLi it.

Case: Great case. Really cheap ($99) and you can take off all the parts. Great for modding and the looks is just great. Simple, Aggressive and Sexy. The brushed finish is plastic, the case itself is not flimsy even though you can take it apart. Well built. My only con of it is the window panel. It's not glass, its plastic and it is scratch magnet.

Power Supply: I wanted to buy the Corsair HX850i but its too expensive so i had to go for RM750 plus its kinda gold lol

OS: Win7, what else can i say about it?

Case Fans: I bought and AF140 for the rear exhaust and colored the white ring to gold so it fits my theme (I used a Gold Paint Pen from Craftsmart). The rest of the fans are stock but they are SPs. 1 was the rear stock fan from the case and i moved it to top for exhaust. The other 4 are stock fans of the radiators. I might change them to SP140 of corsair.

Keyboard: Corsair K90 Mechanical Keyboard (Cherry MX Red). I love this keyboard its so sexy and easy to clean lol the only thing i dont like about it is you cant change the color of the lights. I bought this before the other version of this came out where you can change the color of the lights i forgot the name lol (My old keyboard was Razer Lycosa)

Mouse: Logitech G600 MMO Gaming mouse. This is better than Naga in my opinion. I had nagas before, yes, with S, and all of them gave up on me (Left click) so i decided to buy a new one and read reviews of G600. You just have to get used to it since its a little bigger than the Naga.

Headphones: Sennheiser PC360 and Audio Technica ATH-M50s. I had a Razer Carcharias and it was okay but these are better.

Mouse pad: Razer Goliathus extended. I love this pad so much and its the only Razer product left that i use lol

Monitors: Samsung PX2370 23" and Asus VG248QE 24". Samsung is from my old PC and i only use it for web browsing and stuff. The Asus monitor is for gaming or watching videos. I love this monitor and you can really tell the difference of 60hz and 120hz/144hz.

About why my tubing has cable sleeves on it. Its because i want to make it look cleaner and sexier. That is all there is to it lol

Well thats it. I hope you guys like it. Leave a comment if you have any questions or show some love or if you want feel free to criticize. :D

Yes, but then again, look at the price of monitors, headphones etc. I think about 1000 bucks are just that and OS.

TheUnicorn 1 point 36 months ago

Did you read the description?

Amazian 3 points 36 months ago

You don't see many black and gold build nowadays so to me this is a really nice looking build. Looks very awesome. You could of sold your old video card and the with your saved money, you could of bought a 780. But still +1

imxs submitter 1 Build 1 point 36 months ago

It is awesome indeed and about the GPU card, I also thought about that but i wanted to do an SLi build and didn't have that much budget to get a new high end card than what i already have that's why i went this route lol i could change the GPU whenever anyway so its not really a problem and it looks more sexy than having 1 card, don't you think? haha :D

I really love the gold and black, but also the cabling "fabric" used to wrap the tubes. Really, really great.

Coming from someone who has done a gold, white and black theme I can say you nailed it with this. +1 allll dayyyy.

imxs submitter 1 Build 1 point 36 months ago

Thanks! The black and gold colors is always simple and sexy that's why i chose those colors for my build but it is sooooo hard to find gold colors lol I'm glad you like the sleeves :)

powellbm86 8 Builds 1 point 36 months ago

I really like the gold and black theme. The cover on the tubing makes it look industrialized. Really sic build.

imxs submitter 1 Build 1 point 36 months ago

Tell Me more about the tubeing, and CPU block. How did you get the gold look from the Swiftech apogee? (I think that the CPU block in the h240)

imxs submitter 1 Build 1 point 36 months ago

About the tubing, I bought a Non-Fray Expandable Braided Sleeving 3/8" from cableorganizer.com and TruFlex tube (3/8" ID x 5/8" OD) from Swiftech. For some reason the tube is a little bit smaller to be a 5/8" OD tube if you compare it to a different brand like Primoflex. So being a little bit smaller than what it suppose to be worked for me cause i have to make it fit if im going to put the sleeves in the tube. I cut the tubes first then put the sleeves, the sleeves should be shorter than the tube cause if not you will have problems putting it with the compression fittings.

About the CPU block, i bought it from XSPC and the backing plate is from EK. I colored the EK logo to black cause it was silver and i don't want that lol

About the apogee, I colored the white plate to gold ( I used a Gold Paint Pen from Craftsmart) but you can't light it up though cause it will still give you white effect.

I really like the build, not too sure about those GPUs for this price range, but it is beautiful. :D

imxs submitter 1 Build 1 point 36 months ago

Yeah, i know but i can always change it anytime anyway ;)

xHynix 1 point 36 months ago

you should change your case to NZXT S340. It would look even better in that case. But none the less its still amazing.

imxs submitter 1 Build 1 point 36 months ago

I don't think it will fit though cause i have 2 rads (dual 140mm and dual 120mm). I actually wanted to buy the 760T case for this build but it was too expensive lol

xHynix 1 point 36 months ago

True I thought the S340 supported 2x140mm or 2x120mm at the top lol, its only supported in the front.

sepnotic 1 Build 1 point 36 months ago

Well done my friend +1

imxs submitter 1 Build 1 point 36 months ago

Thank you good sir!

zacR 1 Build 1 point 36 months ago

Awesome, never seen sleeved tubing.

PootieThang 1 Build 1 point 36 months ago

Awesome setup! The H240-X is amazing. You made it even more so. I also have the same cooler / case (Luxe).

Shadow_Bullet 1 point 35 months ago

Did you use an extra pump or did you just use the Swiftech Pump?

imxs submitter 1 Build 1 point 33 months ago

Sorry for the late reply. Just H240-X pump.

pacwageo 1 point 26 months ago

Is the h240-x pump loud, or struggle at all, when trying to push fluid through all these components?

Febreeze_ 1 point 32 months ago

Where did u mount the HDD if you removed all the bays? Sorry, little new to PC building .

imxs submitter 1 Build 1 point 32 months ago

I mounted it where the CD-Rom suppose to be. I used a 3M double sided tape and thats it.

frankiebowman 1 Build 1 point 32 months ago

That gold and black scheme is gorgeous!

imxs submitter 1 Build 1 point 32 months ago

Thank you!

schnell 1 point 24 months ago

Hey I love the desktop background! Have a link for it?

dechols239 1 point 18 months ago

If you are still running this rig with the H240x may I ask how the cooler is doing after all this time? Thanks.

lpfanatix 1 point 17 months ago

Haha pinoy ah :D

ctf05 1 point 12 months ago

saq1610 1 point 7 months ago

Wow! Just stumbled across this when looking for reviews on the ATH-M50X's. And Holy **** dat tubing is sexy AF and the gold accents make it look absolutely mind blowing!

Nater650 1 point 4 months ago

If I could, I would upvote +6 for the unique PC

aBanana144p 0 points 36 months ago

3000+ dollars, but still an i5 lol.

noma34 1 point 36 months ago

There's at least $1000 of peripherals to take off before you get the cost of just the rig.
