Description

This is a build for my friends sister, who almost spent waaaay too much on an FX-8350 based build. She gave the money she was going to spend on it to me, after seeing some of my builds, and told me to run with it. Criteria were : Ultra settings on all games at 1080p @ 60+ frames, quiet, has an upgrade path...... and has to be blue.

Done.

I present to you, Challenger Deep. This build was honestly a blast. The case is a pleasure to work in and I very highly recommend it to anyone. This build came out extraordinarily well, I kind of wish I could keep it for myself.

Let me know what you think!

PCPP really needs to add a "favorite" feature.

Very clean and impressive build!

Did you have any trouble installing the C7 cooler on the full sized ATX board? I was considering buying it as a replacement for my loud *** stock Intel cooler because of the sleek low-profile design, but I see on the site that it is made for mATX and ITX motherboards.

No problem whatsoever. It's touted as a mITX cooler due to it's size. Not that it doesn't work with ATX boards. It's a sleek and quiet alternative to the stock cooler.

Nice Build! Is there any build that will cost around $1400-1600 CAD or $1000-1150 USD (Including OS and PC only) and , featuring gtx 1070 and an SSD with 480-512GB (no Hard drive). Also would like to have i5 7600/k or i5 6600/k? Is there any recommended build that u would suggest with these pc components for the price? Please, and thanks! Also top notch build bro, keep up the good work. Got that up arrow from me :)

This PC was about that price range, and it's gorgeous. If aesthetics are in order, then I'd recommend this.

This PC will dominate 1080p at 144hz or 1440p at 60hz.

Great build! The cable management is amazing! Only thing I would have done was gone with a different motherboard or an AMD GPU. This board doesn't support SLI, but it does support crossfire. If you went with a board that supports SLI you could run another 1070 later on if needed. Or if you would have gone with an AMD GPU, You could have just added a second later on keeping the mobo you used. But over all i love this build and again, that cable management is great!

The build wouldn't get SLI in the future and it was more cost effective to go with the B250 chipset.

Thank you though! I love hearing how clean builds come out. (:

You only used a single LED 30 CM strip to light it?

Im gonna get the exact motherboard for my build and I was wondering how its working out for you 2 months later? And is the CPU Cooler any good?

The board is running fine. The B250 boards aren't very feature rich, but they do the job. The CPU cooler is a great alternative over the stock but for $5 more I'd get the H7. It's larger and quieter, but if you prefer the low profile aesthetic the C7 is literally the perfect upgrade from stock.
