Dear reader,

I have recently built a pc, and have a gtx 750 ti paired with an i3 4160. I have seen that in battlefield 4, it starts to lag when even as little as a bit of smoke comes up in silk road. I am wondering if i should get a new gpu like a gtx 960 or go over to the red team and get a radeon r9 380. Also, will the system be bottle necked in any sort of way?

Thanks for your help.

At that price point, yes, it's probably a better idea to go with an AMD card over an Nvidia one. The 4160 won't bottleneck a 380 in BF4, but it may in other games.

What kinds of other games would struggle in?

Mostly modern RTSs and MMOs, anything that can have a lot of entities or actors displayed in a single scene and moving around very dynamically (i.e. not on preset paths). So MMOs with lots of player characters packed into a single area, RTSs with lots of individual units running around, or games with highly advanced physics engines will ask a lot of a computer's CPU. Games like Civilization 4, Tera, and Planetside 2 are examples of very CPU-intensive games that the 4160 would have trouble with.

Ok I am also thinking of going with team red as well.
