I was wondering will an AMD cpu work with micro atx
I've used this one in a build. IMHO its the best AM3+ mAtx board.
With what micro ATX board?
MSI H110M Gaming Micro ATX LGA1151 Motherboard
that wont work, the cpu is for AMD and that motherboard is for Intel. if you want to make an AMD build wait for Zen
No. That is an Intel motherboard. You want to look at a 970 or a 760 for that CPU.
Don't bother with the AM3 + platform, if you can avoid it; the performance of Intel's new CPUs is significantly better and much more power efficient (on average, they draw roughly 30% less power).
It's still a viable option for budget Multicore PCs. It may be old but toward the end of a Architectures lifespan is when it's the most refined which also makes them great overclockers.
The power argument is also irrelevant with CPUs, an i7-6700K draws 91w and an FX 8370 draws 125w, that's 34w difference and that's literally nothing. You're counting pennies right there. Sure overtime you may save a couple dollars, but if you're that tight in money that the extra $5 you saved over 3 years is a lot, maybe you should sell the PC to make some cash. Lol
Yes Intel is better atm, but that doesn't mean that's your only option, he can choose what applies to him best and all we can do is make suggestions.
