... I legitimately don't know why. I went to it on amazon again and "ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1482536536&sr=8-1" was tagged onto it (I assume that is the referral part)

I am mildly confused and will look into that. In the mean time I figured out the bare bones item page link https://www.amazon.com/PDP-Rock-Candy-Wired-Controller-Xbox/dp/B00M7ZJ2LY

EDIT: I figured out what that is. ref= is not for a referral link, it is for amazon to track how you move around the site. tag= is a referral link

No, a ref link has tag=... on it. Ref=... is not an amazon affiliate link.

Alright my bad, it's just that many sites have that so I assumed incorrectly.

No worries. You're right - a lot of sites use ref= for the affiliate tag. :)
