Question about GPU Water Blocks and Compatability

Friends,

Here is my list... https://pcpartpicker.com/list/j7Z79W

Considering for the following video card: Video Card: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1080 8GB Founders Edition Video Card

Considering water cooling block for the GPU https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01H0H0U3C?ref_=pfb_5kh81l6326g2ee1395cnl229jjn7&tag=hydfbook0e-20&ascsubtag=pfb-P01-V01-O5-T5-EVAL-SJANUM

Are these compatible? It shows 1080 GTX which I image it will be but wanted some opinions. My color scheme is white, orange, blue for the case and cables so far.. I am thinking of going with pure red for my coolent. Not sure if that would look right..

Please advise and Thank You,

tvos

Yep block will work fine for the gigabyte founders card. Block is based on the refrence PCB which all founder cards use.

Neither of those panels is 4K and both are very diffrent from one another. One is 1440p ultrawide while the cheaper one is 1080p ultrawide. Which one your prefer IMO depends on your budget. Personally if I had the funds for the LG for $920. I would try to save up an extra $150 and grab the x34 for 100hz and gsync. Well worth it if your already paying that much IMO.

The 1080p panel is much less demanding so you could actually get by no issues with a much less powerful gpu.

My birthday is coming up soon...;-) I want the best in monitor and gpu card since this little project is going to last a long time....

Would I really see the difference in QTY between the two monitors with the video card I have chosen?

There is a fair bit of diffrence between the two panels you listed. One of course being 1080p ultrawide and the other 1440p ultrawide. The later would have a higher pixel density so the image will be sharper and more crisp. However it does mean the monitor is harder to drive due to all them pixels. For the 1080p ultrawide the GTX 1080 will crush pretty much every game maxed provided it's paired with a solid CPU. For the 1440p monitor the GTX 1080 does a good job but some newer game should or less optimised ones will need settings toned down.

I'd suggest a 1080ti if you go for the 3440x1440 100hz.

This right here. If your gonna drop $900 plus, might as well save a little longer and get the x34. Wish I had done this very same thing.
