so im getting an amd a6-7400k and i have an msi hd7770. good idea bad idea? ive never had an apu before so idk what the graphic power of it is
I think that getting an FM2 based processor at this point in time is a bad idea unless it's a very good, second hand deal. A G4560 with a cheap LGA1151 motherboard would be best, and then you can just upgrade the graphics card as necessary.
The APU is not very powerful, here's a video of someone playing Skyrim. Skyrim isn't exactly a very graphically intensive game. On what looks like lowest settings it is pulling maybe 40FPS on average.
Now, since you have a 7770 the frame rates will be much higher. But I'd still recommend pairing the 7770 with the G4560 for better framerates.
Terrible idea, especially with the A6. Very poor performing processor that is not even suitable for light gaming.
+1, It really is terrible... I have one and used it with a 660, I struggled in csgo.
