MantisTek GK2 Mechanical Keyboard Software Sends Data to China

When you install the software for this keyboard, it starts a background process that opens a connection to a Chinese server and sends key usage data. Apparently it is not a keylogger per se, but sends the number of times each key was pressed. About the most charitable interpretation of this is that they're trying to gather wear and tear statistics on the keys. Nevertheless, this activity is not disclosed to owners of the keyboard, much less getting permission.

It is unclear whether uninstalling the MantisTek "Cloud Driver" software will stop the data exfiltration.
