New Amd cpu rumors?

Ragingboar

I heard from a previous thread where I asked about getting a 2700X a user told me that Amd is going to have anothere set of more budget friendly cpus will come out soon.

It's kinda hard to build a system with new hardware coming out at such a rapid rate.

Take it with a grain of salt.

The only semi confirmed model is a low end Athlon dual core @3.2ghz based on the Raven Ridge APU from a Asus compatibility update. If you are in the market for a 2700X it's the polar opposite CPU.

There are some where they have listed products model numbers but all too often those are region specific or OEM only so no idea if those are ever going to be available. And those are all very low end parts.

Otherwise you are looking at probably a year or so before anything launches the 7nm node is having problems getting off of the ground and it isn't clear yet when they will be ready for Ryzen 2.

Edit: Threadripper has newer stuff launching at some point using the revised 2nd gen CCX but those are likely to cost well above a 2700X.

AMD has not announced any new CPU chips officially, but they may come later on the market.

What's really interesting, is this below:

If you want a 2700X, why would you be worried about them releasing more low-end budget CPUs? You can already buy a 2600/X if you want a more budget-friendly CPU that will still be great for gaming.

They are going to release a new low-end Ryzen 5 (2500X) and some Ryzen 3 CPUs.

Those are unconfirmed all they did is setup model numbers for them we have no idea as I posted whether they will be available to mass market, OEM specific, or Region specific. Several of the mass market marked parts listed by AMD in those lists have never actually been available outside of select regions or OEM only sources.

AMD has been talking about both OEM and Region Specific models to several of the OEM and to APAC/South American suppliers.

So we are kind of in a wait and see if they ever appear or how they appear.
