Debit card on Amazon?

Ragingboar

I was wondering if it's safe to use my debit card for purchases on Amazon. I read horror stories of people's cards getting hacked, so I'm a little nervous to input my debit info. I don't want to keep asking my dad for his credit card so I can buy the parts for a new build.

You carry a risk everywhere really online, but generally speaking yes, its pretty safe (as long as your machine itself is not infested or something) I have had my debit card on file for years with them and never had an issue.

I imagine its similar for most people. I have no doubt some people do have issues, though likely down to something on them rather then amazon, but with the number of people using amazon, no doubt there will be some stories out there.

Can agree with this, I've also had my debit card on my account for years and nothing has happened, just make sure to keep your PC virus free.

Highly recommend you get a secured CC ($500-1000), google it if you don't know what it is. It will be a great help to start building your credit (assuming your young). While giving you some security, because if for some unfortunate reason your DC does get hacked/#s stolen. That money is GONE and bank will not give you your money back. Meanwhile a CC will only charge you a max of $50 if your CC gets hacked/stolen.

I've had fraudulent charges on my debit card rectified a few times in the past. Never has the money been just gone.

Well my sister and cousin were not so lucky... also like I said earlier build the credit! Credit age fairly important factor the big 3 agencies look at for calculating your score.
