Guide me through this marvelous new world if you will!!!!

I would like to combine my three work computers into one rig AND ALSO be able to game like a BEAST when the boss isnt looking!! The three computers for work are crapy little HP Compact nc6120's & 6320's. One is used for multiple excel sheets spanning a number of weeks of ongoing information ( we drill oil wells, 25 days on the average) Another stores tons of formation logs from start to finish using DigiDrill software And the third really does not use that much memory.

It would be nice to run those three off of one PC to 3 monitors.

i play games like COD and Fallout4...Need to build for FO76

micro or mini would be cool as i travel home 500 miles for a few days a month but not a must. really like the glass windows and RGB

Anyhow, HOok mE UP with something cool and the cheaper the better... ;0

I put a rig together in the system build just for fun, and have seen some amazing builds on here.

Maybe something like this. Multicore cpu for workstation power and a great gaming gpu. Should do everything pretty well. Tried to keep it smallish.

That was fast! Thank you very much. Thats $1K Cheaper than what I put together. This should get me where I Need to be and i can upgrade as I go. What kind of cooling system is a good bang for my buck!

THANKS AGAIN!!

drkstorm1 1 point 3 months ago

If your not overclocking the stock cooler will do well for you. If you want to overclock i'd go with the Mugen 5 rev b cooler

USE - Would like to combine my 3 work computers into this on build. I use one with many different excel sheets over combining information over aprox one month at a time for each file. second computer stores log files and uses software by DigiDrill Data Logger to log formations as we drill, and the third is more or less a monitor, only relays real time info from a downhole tool out here on location. AND I want to game like a beast on Fallout76 or fo4 until then

-no perphs needed

Pretty similar to the other builds.

16Gb of ram for multi tasking. I use alot of excel and i use mroe than 8gb so 16 should give you plenty of head room. Some RGB on the RAM is a nice touch

The 2700x is a good multi core processor again great for productivity and good for gaming. The stock cooler works very well and is a nice RGB Ring

an SSD for commonly used applications and windows a 2TB hard drive for any local storage you'll need.

A GTX 1060 will game very well at 1080p all high settings and will run 3 monitors just fine, but admittedly wont play in 4k or anything like that.

In the sleek fractal meshify C White. Which isnt a mini case or anything but should be plenty small to move around. Has great airflow and will be easy to build in.

overall a very production focused PC for work with great gaming capability and a sleek matching RGB and white aesthetic.

Thank you very much and for the descriptions as well. i think i can squeeze a GeForce 1070 Ti in there Really want to play graphically demanding games at good frame rates. Any pointers for a first time builder.

That case looks good *** well!

Here you go. The P300 is probably the smallest ATX case with Tempered Glass. A Mini-ITX build costs more and would limit expansion and there are no higher end AM4 Micro-ATX motherboards. This motherboard has Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. The sound quality is decent, but it has plenty of PCI-e slots if you want to upgrade to a dedicated sound card later. Two 140mm RGB fans you can install in the front of the case for fresh intake air. The cooler for the R7 2700X has RGB as well.

Whats a good cooling system if i were to throw one in there?

RAWSTYLE84 1 Build 1 point 3 months ago

Stock cpu cooler should be fine. I don't think an aftermarket cooler is required unless you're an enthusiast or wants a quieter/cooler computer. I'm running stock fans all around but I would like a couple for intake fans. My case is also pretty restricted for front airflow.
