https://pcpartpicker.com/user/IamNotGoodWithUsernames/saved/#view=FZrcYJ ( Intel Version )

Info:

Location : US Primary Use : Gaming EDIT : 1440p 144hz Gaming Secondary Uses : Productivity mostly just the adobe suite, maybe future content creation for YT. Budget ( Main PC around $2000 ) ( Peripherals around $1000 ) Cannot exceed 3500 in total Preferably if you change parts try to stick to a consistent theme. ( I probably wont buy a GPU until i see RTX benchmarks from a reliable source )

I haven't done too much research into peripherals but here's the list i have anyways https://pcpartpicker.com/user/IamNotGoodWithUsernames/saved/#view=4MWM8d

For a 1440p monitor get a 27 inch at the least. https://pcpartpicker.com/product/BcTrxr/dell-monitor-s2716dg

The Newegg reviews show a 25% failure on the motherboard. It also has a very poor power delivery looks like 4+2 You can buy a much better board for the same price.

For your M.2 drive that is just the form factor it's the same speed as a SATA SSD.

If you use the adobe suite for your work it may benefit from the igpu that comes with the i7-8700k and also scales with its faster per core speed. Though if you are doing video work I would recommend going with 32GB of ram if you can fit it in your budget. Intel does not scale as much for ram speed so if you find a 3000 kit that is cheaper than a 3200 kit I doubt you will be able to tell them apart in performance.

I probably wont buy a GPU until i see RTX benchmarks from a reliable source

As that is in less than a week I would say that is a great idea. Too many unknowns for the new cards where I will never recommend pre-ordering because it would suck if you invest that much money into the unknown.

I probably will upgrade from 16gb in the future to 32 but i wont need 32 for now. But if the Adobe suite is better than intel than ill go with the i7 8700k as it's also slightly better at gaming than the r7 2700x.

I do have question however, if i get intel what are the performance loss if i go with 3000 ram instead of 3200? In both games and the adobe suite?

I do not like wasting my money so i never pre order. If RTX turns out to be worth the price increase i might get the 2080 or 2080ti but i also know Pascal is still a great option.

With intel and only a single jump in ram speed (3200 down to 3000) you are looking at a change smaller than the margin of error testing it. With games going from 2133 to 3000 on Intel you are looking at 1-3% difference in FPS. Ryzen scales more with ram speed because of the infinity fabric in the architecture.
