i7 8700 CPU Question

Fleuger99

I ordered and received an i7 Core 8700 8th Gen Desktop processor. I've installed it but after looking at the specs on my computer it says I have a Kaby Lake processor. Shouldn't this be a Coffee Lake processor?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Yes, it should say Coffee Lake. Are you using CPU-Z? What does it report?

Thanks for the info. I installed and ran CPU-Z and its telling me it's Coffee Lake. The other application I saw Kaby Lake on was the Driver Easy app which provides similar info. It is odd that it picked up Kaby Lake.

Glad it worked out ... enjoy your i7-8700! And looks like you've got a great gaming rig!

Thanks! Yes, slowly making changes here and there although out of cash right now as needed to spend some money on my Saab convertible.

Maybe mid-year next year will invest on a 2080 GPU then this machine should be done.
