GTX 1060 GDDR5X (And why it will be the best mid-range card)

The GTX 1060 with GDDR5X will be the best midrange card, and one of the best overclockers on the market. The GDDR5X memory will help with bandwidth, actually theoretically giving it more than the 1070, furthermore, the GP104 in the 1060 will, similar to the 1070 ti, be able to overclock very well, perhaps able to surpass the 1070.

The core doesn't really need much more bandwidth, 9Gbps 1060 proved this. It will make **** all difference like the 9Gbps version did.

Now back to your hole shill, wait for 2060.

Sure, maybe bandwidth isn't as important, but you have to consider the potential overclocking of what's basically a heavily cut-down GTX 1080

It probably won't overclock all that much better.

NVIDIA have been slipping GP104 into 1060 stocks since Dec 2016 if news outlets are to be believed.

I thought this was Tom's Hardware's "Just Buy It" article for a second there...

Pascal isn't memory limited like every one of the GCN architectures, let alone it is running the GDDR5X slower then the 1060 9gbps models if the specs are listed correctly.

Meanwhile, the memory operates at 2,002MHz (8,008MHz effective) across a 192-bit memory interface.

It is a model built to make use of cores too poor to make into 1070.

You have to consider the GP104's potential

You also have to consider the price to pay and it requires a 8pin and 6 pin power connector and Im pretty sure a leaked benchmark of final fantasy showed it being slower than a gtx 1070.

At this point, I rather get a used gtx 1070. Cheaper, majority of models only need one 8 pin and has 2 more gbs of vram.
