New mobo, new windows key?

I'm doing a new build but I'm reusing video card and hard drives - plan on parting out the rest of the old system for sale.

Can I use my old copy of windows on my (mostly) new build?

Depends on if it is a OEM license or Full license.

OEM is one use per motherboard.

Full it is transferable.

If you do not know the version of Windows that you currently have,
To identify Windows version,

Open the Command Prompt,
Type: slmgr -dli
Then press the Enter key.

A window should pop up,
The Description section will state display whether it is OEM, Retail...
