Let’s all share our battlestation whether it’s a couch based Console Battlestation or a Desk based PC battlestation, share your entire setup from the PC Specs to the periphials you use, Let’s get a discussion going.

Oh and to ensure everyone feels welcomed let’s not go trying to note whether PC’s or Consoles are superior, let’s keep civil.

I’ll begin

I have many battlestations, but my PC battlestation is my most used one

CPU: AMD - Ryzen 5 1600 3.2 GHz 6-Core Processor

Probably doesn’t even deserve battlestation status but here’s my PC

CPU: i7-8700

Cooler: probably passively cooled because my PC is literally silent when not under a load.

Motherboard: Dell’s stupid proprietary Z370 motherboard that won’t let me OC even though I have a chipset that can support it

Memory: single stick of 8 GB of SK Hynix DDR4-2400 RAM running in single channel mode.

Storage: 1 TB Toshiba 3.5” 7200 RPM HDD on steroids. (Speed boosted with 16 GB of Intel’s Optane memory)

Video card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 3 GB wrapped in a shroud made by Dell

PSU: Dell’s 460W non modular not even 80+ certified PSU that I wish would blow up so I can convince my parents to let me build a PC.

eesti 1 point 7 days ago

at least you have a nice CPU and a decent GPU

Nater650 3 points 5 days ago

I’m actually starting to enjoy the silence offered by passive cooling after making the switch from Intel’s absolutely horrible stock cooler that literally sounds like a tiny jet engine at full speed. #passivecoolingmasterrace

Nothing wrong with this. Very good CPU, solid GPU, and a HDD with Optane. Solid gaming PC.

I may have another based off of a I3-7100 I recently snagged after parting out a dead HP SFF but that may go to a HTPC instead.

I scrap out and swap parts a ton so I end up with parts having no or very low prices.

Ηydr.a 1 point 5 days ago

Where did you snag a Vega 64 for $200?

Gilroar 1 Build 1 point 5 days ago

Pawn shop had a dead CyberPower prebuilt that some one overvolted and killed the CPU or memory controllers and smashed the TG panels.

I sold off most of the parts cheaply which hurt on the motherboard (X399) but I had no way to verify it was working.

Gilroar 1 Build 1 point 7 days ago

Not everyone uploads their builds or keeps them current though.

Personally whatever secondary build I run can change from week to week easily if not sooner just depends on what parts show up or I find parting out PC's from the local pawn shops or garbage guys and girls grab for me.

Helps to be friends/former boss of the guys doing property management at the local community collage housing.

After a dumpster fire they put a e-waste separate from the trash program.
