Opinions Requested for this budget build

A family friend is requesting a gaming PC for a pretty tight budget. I worked to get this one as cheap as I am comfortable with. Have I made too many compromises or possibly overlooked something major? I want this person to have an enjoyable experience with their first gaming PC.

I'd definitely get more RAM.

Also as some other people pointed out it would be good to go Ryzen, as right now you can get more power for cheaper.

The biggest thing I'd say though is the graphics card and motherboard. The motherboard doesn't support RAM with 3000 or 3200 speeds which is the standard nowadays. Likewise the graphics card is getting pretty old now too.

Made a few changes

  • Changed from intel to ryzen which comes with a decent stock cooler

  • Upgraded from 8gb of ram to 16gb of faster ram

  • Integrated Wi-Fi into the motherboard

  • changed your graphics card to a 590

I appreciate the help! I've never messed with AMD, but I've heard they are killing it recently. I'll definitely consider your ideas.

Change that 1060 for a 1660. Way overpriced and slow for that price. You'll have a ~25% increase in performance for ~20$ more. Personally I would removed the RGB for a 2x8gb kit.
