I have a EVGA GTX 680 classified 4gb card and was wondering when you run SLI does it have to be the exact same card?

I'm pretty sure NVIDA needs two exact same cards/Company.

But AMD from what I remember you can CF a 7850 with a 7870 or 7950 with a 7970 but will run at the lower cards speed. Also doesn't need the same company.
