I wanted a no-frills super functional board......might not look as lavish as the other gaming boards out there but take in mind that you have the ability to overclock AND SLI at this price range, I'll take one please

: The Gigabyte GA-Z97X-SLI was the cheapest bundle board I could get that had a quite good reviews. It is more than sufficient, and I’ve had zero problems with it.

I got it mainly for the overclocking ability and the red/black aesthetic, as well as the ATX form factor. This is the perfect motherboard for me, and the stability feature is very reassuring for me.

Love this thing! I've reassembled with it maybe 5 times and no issues, does everything I need, has all the ports I need and the color scheme and LEDs on it match the my color scheme as a bonus.

The specs on the board are great for entry-level builds. It's on the lower end of SLI capabilities but all in all supposed to be fine. Now my personal experience with the board was horrid: boot looping, not detecting SATA drives intermittently, undervoltage shut down of system (even if that's a feature of intel chips).

No complaints about this board 2 years in. Still has significant room for upgrades, and has plenty of ports for my needs. Only complaint is the gigabyte appcenter software you can download with it. You have to use their software for fan control, and in order to use my custom fan settings, I have to open the app everytime my computer starts up. But that is minor.

Fully functional, I've had no issues with it at all. However it is not a standard-sized ATX board. It is narrower and sacrifices the right-most standoff screws that standard ATX boards have. Due to this, the board flexes and makes it difficult to plug in headers and the 24-pin ATX power cable on the right side of the board. Additionally, due to the narrower board and sacrificed space on the right side, the front audio port is on the very bottom left of the board, so it might not reach on cases with relatively short headers.

I've had this board for 3 years and it has an awesome layout and plenty of ports. The BIOS is very user friendly as well and board has lots of upgrade capability.

Good mobo, wish It had a few more fan ports but oh well. With the option to do SLI and a nice HD BIOS I really like it. The BIOS does have some visual bugs though, and weird splash screens prevent super fast boots. Would recommend to a friend however.
