went with this because of the thin bezel and read nothing but great things about this monitor.

Nice sleek looking screen. The borders on it were done nicely. The stand is a little hard to set up at first if you dont know what you are doing(aka me). Besides that the IPS makes it look incredibly clean.

This monitor has a very good picture out of the box. The color are great. I don't play game, so i can not comment on that. I compare this monitor with the monitor Benq GW2760HS side by side playing an animation movie(Tinkerbell). The Asus MX279H has an ips panel and the Benq GW2760HS has an A-MVA panel. When i compare side by side, the ASUS was set to 'theater' mode and the BenQ was set to 'cinema' mode. The monitor Asus has darker color (more rich) and the Benq has more vivid color (brighter). Both monitor make a very good job with animation movies and i think they will be good choice for gaming. The price on the monitor Asus is too high here in Canada. In the USA the monitor is sold for 250$, here in Canada, it's more than 350$. I can not understand the price difference. The speakers are too weak and muffled. My laptop has better speakers.

Wanted a monitor with a small bezel and this is pretty much perfect. very sharp colour, downside i found is that sometimes i brush the touch button when switching on, and if you put alignment grid on your going to spend hours trying to figure out how to remove it but other then that really nice monitor, Love it's disk stand

Asus MX279H 27 inch 1080p Monitor Menu Buttons on this one are so sensitive you just place your finger on them without a press and they trigger. I have a 25 inch of the same model and the buttons on it are firm with a tactile click. I like that much better. So I have docked this one star because the initial setup is a pain trying to navigate the On Screen Menu with this control panel. Display itself is absolutely wonderful. Very bright, full of color, great viewing angles, and no back light bleed that I can notice.

I bought this refurbished for 160 at newegg. Colors look great and the integrated speakers are surprisingly loud, theres some light bleeding out from edges that you really notice when the screen is black but nothing too serious.
