As powerful as a Titan X for $330 less. Totally worth the price. A little bit, but that extra size allows for some really killer stability and performance improvements.
this card is amazing I'm still waiting for my more GPU intensive games to download, but it handles Fallout 4 at 1080p with everything maxed out like a Champion! I know there's a frame lock on it but for now not having any hitching or stuttering is really nice! I know this card is meant for 4k, but I am making plans to buy a 2k monitor I just don't know if $800 is going to be worth it for a PC monitor. I believe 4k still isn't there, maybe when Pascal hits then we'll see, but for now 980 Ti would be perfect for a 2k monitor.
Was thinking Titan initially but given the price/my budget/ and the barely noticable improvment in perf vs the 980 Ti, I chose the latter. I know it's an overkill but really wanted to feel the difference with my previous 'integrated graphics' lol. Currently playing on an old 1080p (so really an overkill...) but will upgrade the monitor as soon as I can. Love the looks, tried to use the MSI app but not working so far, only reason why I took 1 star off.
Like the mobo, this card looks amazing. Out of the box overclock is good enough for me. Runs silent unless you are gaming (default setting) or you can customize the fan profile to spin the fans at low speed which helps bring the idle temps down (using MSI Afterburner software).
Update1: This puppy runs hot in Gaming Mode- gets up to 78-79C and hovers mostly at around 76C on challenging portions of Crysis 3. I wish it stayed 7-8c cooler under load, but apart from that, no complaints.
Pretty much all of the MF 980ti's have their own spin on them. I actually bought this card before I bought my motherboard. I've had 0 problems with MSi equipment from a failure standpoint and I've always liked the design of the twin frozr cooling system as opposed to other brands. So this was a no brainer for me, card performs great at the clocks it's supplied at although the golden edition has a slightly higher clock locked in, I don't think it's worth the extra 5fps I may get stressing these cards to those clocks.
This is the LE version of this card which doesnt come with any overclock from the factory. I was easily able to overclock it past MSI's standard OC making this a great value.
This card will crush absolutely anything at 1080p. You cant slow it down.
