As a replacement for a Dell U3011, I was looking at either the Acer X34 or ASUS PG348Q. Reviews were that they were basically identical, so when the X34 came on sale for $200 off, it was an easy purchase. I would have liked to get HDR, but that seems to be a year away yet. The 27" HDR monitors have just appeared and indications are they'll be $2000, yikes.
1) Nice size (could be larger)
2) Great resolution + refresh (100Hz) + GSync
3) Ambient lighting is nice
1) Supplied Displayport cable is too short (5 ft) and can't find any longer ones that work with the monitor! Have tried 3 so far and all give a 'no signal' error, annoying!

Fantastic for movies, games and productivity. G-Sync is a must have for me now. The new X34P should be even better.

Holy mother. This monitor is something else. Please do yourself a favor and don't cheap out on the monitor. It's the one piece of equipment that you'll be staring at the most. This thing is just unbelievable!
The stand is about as massive as the price tag, so you may want to factor in the cost of a desk/wall mounting solution if you're looking into this. I found one for cheap that I'm absolutely thrilled with.

After months of waiting, I was finally able to get my hands on an Acer Predator X34 monitor. This is the first ultra-wide display with g-sync, running 100hz on a curved, 34" 3440x1440 screen. If you're not an e-sports athlete or hardcore fps gamer, then the miniscule differences between 100hz g-sync and 144hz (or even 200hz) will go unnoticed. With software like FlawlessWidescreen an HxD, almost EVERY game in my library can take full advantage of the 21:9 aspect ratio. It's simply amazing.

Amazing! Overclockable to 100Hz. Supported natively in Windows 10. The color accuracy and sharpness is absolutely stunning.
Notes: Use a displayport cable to overclock and get the full benefits. OC is disabled when using HDMI and due to HDMI limitations, you will only get 50Hz maximum using HDMI
You can use a mini-displayport to displayport cable to connect your mac to this display. That's what I did and I am able to get native 3440x1440 resolution in Mac OSX (El Capitan). You are still limited to 60Hz because that's the max that Macbook Pro (retina) can output.
The on screen display on the monitor is total garbage! It WILL take you a while to get used to the menus. The good news is that once you set it, you can forget it so the OSD menus are not a deal breaker. One suggestion (strongly advised): increase the OSD timeout menu to something like 15 seconds so that you can fumble around for the right buttons.
No dead pixels or bleeding issues. There is IPS glow but that is expected and only viewable on dark backgrounds.

Loses a star for price. I'm getting it. It all comes down to taking my balls and spreading a generously thick layer of molten steel while clutching my wallet. While not as overclockable as the RoG Swift, there's a reason this monitor is well recommended by enthusiasts everywhere. Its 2k 21:9 aspect ratio is certainly an orgasmic experience that everyone needs to have.
