1440p up to 165hz monitor with G-Sync....That alone is amazing. The monitor is crystal clear due to the IPS panel, but because of this you will see a 4ms response time. The previous TN panel has a 1ms response time, but you also get washed our colors and terrible viewing angles just like any other TN panel.

Considering the price the backlight bleed issue I have on my unit makes this a bit annoying. Standard IPS glow is one thing, but there are actual bleed spots. The panel both Asus and Acer are using for 27" 144/165hz IPS are just going to apparently suffer from these issues. If you can swing it you'd probably be happier going for the ultra wide or another size to avoid this specific panel.

This display is absolutely beautiful. I got lucky with the panel lottery and got a good one from Amazon on my first order. Gaming at 165hz with G-Sync on is amazing, I cant go back to playing on a 60hz monitor anymore.
The only complaint I have is that there is a glitch where a slice of the middle of the screen moves over to the right or left of the screen randomly. The only way to get rid of it is to turn the monitor off and on again. ASUS says its a firmware issue that can be remedied by sending the monitor back to them to get it reflashed, but I'm wary of sending it to them as I'm afraid I'll receive a defective refurb back. It's a damn shame because otherwise the monitor is absolutely perfect.

Oh my lord, this monitor is such a pleasure to use on the daily. Of course with incredible specs and performance, comes a huge price, but I think it is totally worth it if you have the budget to do so. The colors are incredible, along with the other features that it has. Definitely would recommend.

Love this monitor! I bought mine used through amazon and it has little to no back-light bleeding. Monitor handles everything i throw at it with super high refresh rates.

I saw quite a few reviews for this monitor stating that some received theirs with excessive back light bleed and/or dead pixels. I am thankful to say that mine has been flawless! There is nothing like gaming at over 100Hz! The IPS panel (after some calibration) puts off very accurate, vivid colors! But be prepared to my PC speakers if you don't already have some! The internal speakers and complete garbage!

Seriously...this monitor simply kicks a**. Expensive for sure, definitely worth saving up a few more weeks for. 1440p overclocked to 165 hz and the beauty is in GSync. I know there are mixed emotions when it comes to the GSync premium however coming from a non-GSync monitor to this, night and day! My 1080ti does a great job at pushing frames on this monitor but when it gets tough, like full maps on BF1 with a lot going on, it will dip to the low 100s and I don't notice a change at all. Witcher 3 maxed out is one BEAUTIFUL game and although my PC, as strong as it is, pushes around 80-90 fps on that game it is smooth as butta...
I edit photos and videos on this monitor (hence why I went IPS instead of the 278q) and it has proven to be a big upgrade from my 1080p ultrawide. I thought I would miss the extra real estate on the ultrawide but this resolution makes up for it. This is the one item I was worried about on my rig and one that definitely made me feel guilty for a few weeks after purchasing. Once the guilt subsided I am extremely happy and look forward to having this monitor until the day I die...
Overall - 10/10 if I could. The price will drive people away for sure it almost got me too but once I started driving this bad boy I knew it was the right decision and great investment. I do not intend on going 4k for many years to come. The 144/165hz has so many benefits more than just in games. Even the desktop and applications/videos look so good. Hell youtube looks amazing on this monitor. Thank you Asus!

Had to send this monitor back 2 times before I got one that didn't have either dead pixel clusters or weird yellow tint. I would not recommend buying this display, it's just too much a hassle (read other reviews on amazon etc). The third panel I got was decent, but not really at the level I would except for a display at this price.

Looks amazing, if only you could get IPS with 1ms response time. Very minimal light bleed, and I found one stuck pixel. I may look into RMA if it hasn't gone through Asus's new inspections already. I still don't know if it was worth the price tag, for $850-900 it would be an even sweeter monitor.
-- Update -- Asus support ensured me that I could exchange the monitor and that the support case they started would void me having to pay the restocking fee at Canada Computers. So I packed it all up and when I brought it in they would do nothing for me. I was very adamantly assured by Asus support that I would have no problem.

This monitor was worth every penny. A lot of reviews have stated that they have bad IPS bleed with this monitor. I have been fortunate to not have that issue. Its an IPS panel and they're notorious for that, however I don't notice any issues. It overclocks to 165mhz and does have speakers. The speakers don't get very loud but then again you're most likely going to have a headset on anyway.
