Was not my first choice, but hasn't disappointed. The color function is gimmicky, especially if your case has a power shroud like mine. I didn't have the option of flipping the fan up, so the fan is standard down and the soft glow of color from the power supply is lost when the lights are on. And the only way to change the color is a physical switch in the back, so don't get wooed by the "256 colors" claim. I have no idea how to access anything beyond the 5 defaults.

Still, it's a terrific power supply. The PSU came with a bag full of cables covering everything I needed and then some. I only used the cables necessary for my setup and bagged the rest, making cable management much easier. It's been very quiet, not making any noticeable noise unless I push it super hard.

Colorful and reliable, have had it for about 2 years without any issues.

Rgb is subtle but nice, very quiet even with fan running. Cables are decent quality. Well worth the price and more.

it works, it looks good, it's 80+.

Notes: I don't intend to OC in the foreseeable future, so i opted for the lower power rating. If you plan on OCing, reserve more power overhead than this set up. Maybe 750W if you use 2070S as i do, or 850W if you want to go for Radeon 5700XT or RTX 2080S.

Nice 650 PSU. There is an RGB control switch on the back of the power supply to cycle through the colors and effects. Don't really like that the color of the connectors for the the GPU cable is red.

from completed build My First Build

This is the only part of the build I'm not super confident in. I believe the LTT forum guide says that the Smart Pro series is good quality, but I could have mis-read it. Going with an 80+ Gold may have been a good idea, but I'm well below the 650W rating, so I'm not too concerned. I don't have anything negative to say about it, but we'll see how the longevity is. The auto-fan is a great feature, but the LEDs are a bit of a gimick (only 5 pre-set colors, plus rainbow, controlled by a button on the PSU and not the system itself). I didn't buy it for the LED, so I'm not disappointed.

Good PSU, not a fan of the 24pin design nor the length of the cables. FB Marketplace
