Great price to performance compared to Samsung's 970 EVO if you can find it on one of the many frequent sales.

This is a real deal i got for $90 awhile back. It is super fast in both reads and write speeds. Great for the price over samsung evo and pro.

This is the future! Insanely fast, even relative to a SATA SSD! Windows boots almost instantly from full off state. Was concerned about getting the non-heat sink version, but the drive never gets over 45C when running synthetic tests.
This drive is probably the most future-proof portion of this build.

runs at NVMe speeds. holds my OS. it's placement on the board is very close to my GPU so it tends to run 10+C warmer than the other M.2 drive installed.

I was astounded by how fast this was for install, boot, you name it. The only concern I have, and I wonder if its been amended in the newer models, is that it's runs pretty hot. Now this could be due to my inexperience with the technology and the fact that its on a tight board in a smaller case...but I got a heatsink that helped regulate temps a little better. I would defer to more experienced builders on whether or not my criticism is warranted

from completed build Deep Learning and Gaming Machine. Overclocked to 4 GHz.
Initial benchmarks have been amazing. This is a really fast drive. Faster than my Samsung EVO 960.
Edit: I knocked this drive down a star. I've struggled to get this drive working in Ubuntu 18.04 (Freezes system when trying to access). After searching the Western Digital and Ubuntu forums, it doesn't look like this drive works well with Ubuntu right now. Not sure if it's drivers or bios or something else. If anyone has luck getting this to run in Ubuntu 18.04, let me know. Still works great on Windows 10.
