I agonised over this one. After many hours of research I chose a GTX 970 but then I sat on the decision overnight. Come the following morning I came across a review of the 950 Gaming Xtreme on Tom's Hardware. For approx. half the money it seems you get more than half the performance of a 970. Especially true if gaming is not your priority. And more so if you are tight for space in the case. The 970 would fit in the Inwin 901 but would cover the intake fan. Not a massive problem in itself, but I felt the 950 was overall a better balance for my build and purpose. Call me shallow, but I also liked having a back plate to improve looks. Performs much better than I expected using some basic Heaven tests. Have yet to actually play any games on the machine, so I'll keep things under review.

Looks great, works great, fits in my case, the whole package! I definitely recommend this to anyone who's looking for a budget GPU under $200.

I was originally looking for a Palit GTX 950 Jetstream, but the shop refer to me their last stock of Gigabyte GTX 950 xtreme gaming with just a 5 bucks difference. it was not listed on their price list but being gigabyte and can overclock more than the Palit, i grabbed it and boy, I hit 60+ fps on all games at stock speed! custom settings ofc, especially with The Division! I can't imagine how i did reach the level 30 in the game with just using the GT 420 and an athlon x2.

PROS: -Pleasing look / black plate and WINDFORCE LED -Stunning performances even for a GTX 950 -Stays cool and silent even under alot of stress. -Good overclocking potential
CONS: -Gigabyte OC GURU II is asbolutely horrible -Only has 2 GB of GDDR5 - Still stupidly expensive for Canadian customers even after the release of the 1000 series ( 233$ CAD / 140$ USD ) -Don't know if it's only for me, but the white LED of the windforces looks very greenish/blueish
