Chose over any other power supply because I would like to upgrade to 2 cards SLI eventually and the platinum with fully modular is just a deal I couldn't pass up.

Very solid PSU with nearly a perfect score on johnnyguru. Eco mode is actually a really nice feature that I undervalued until I owned the unit. My biggest complaint is that the motherboard pin is a 26-wire cable, which means that my custom cables look a little off with 26 wires awkwardly branching out of a 24-pin connector. I know that's a very subtle detail, but it's something to keep in mind if you plan on using custom cables with this unit.

Quiet with the eco mode turned on and its one of the most highly rated PSUs out there

Premium power supply for premium parts. I wanted to make sure I got one that had good reviews and was by a top manufacturing brand. I think it's either Seasonic or SuperFlower.

Great power supply, even has an "ECO" mode, which runs with the fan off until it gets too hot. Fits in nicely with my goals of having a quiet PC and saving energy. This has to be the nicest power supply I have ever bought, even came in a fancy cloth bag… and with fancy velcro cable ties.

Plenty of power delivered efficiently and quietly. Pretty much all there is to say here.

WhileI used a 750w psu initially to post, it was not 80+ rated, so not-so-efficient and would have sucked up a lot of electricity. I went for a 850w Platinum because $5 extra than the 850w Gold. I also went for a 850w because $10 extra from the 750w. And after checking out my system energy consumption requirements when I plugged in all my components (gtx 1070 included) onto an online wattage estimator, 650w would have been more than enough to power it safely with room to spare. but then I looked at higher wattages because $10-$20 extra.

Also wanted to go for a fully modular psu to keep things less cluttered and for compatibility with custom cables kits. Ended up using custom cable extensions, rather than custom cable replacements though ($40 vs $100+ for swappable cables)

Plenty of power and not a bad price. Have the occasional power flicker at my house and haven't noticed any adverse affects to my computer; power supply seems to handle those just fine.

less vampire power sucked up compared to my old bronze certified one. quiet, no hum or noise from it.

This was insanely overkill for what I needed, I have no idea what I was doing picking this PSU, I guess it does the job so no problems here.
