+1 for the case :)
thanks for the comment. it's been months since i've been on this site.
i've no doubt that someone could make a much prettier build than i have with this case, and put it to its full potential. by the time i finished with building this i had kinda run out of gas (and money); though i have been gaming ever since, so i guess it all paid off. it'll be nice to see another one of these cases on here. what do you love about the case, and what do you plan to use it for?
+1 for the look on your face
Pretty serious build. I feel you on posting your build and everyone just skipping over it...
Your monitor seems a little skimpy for the horsepower you got. What are you using the computer for?
that case looks like a transformer. +1
how was the cable management with that non modular psu?? i bought a legacy u3 a couple days ago but also have a non modular psu... i'm worried about whether or not i should go modular.
the windows 7 full branded branded version i was referring to is on snaggstuff.com listed for $73. someone mentioned it earlier on this forum and it seems people here think it's legit. but i've done some research and found many mixed opinions.
where'd you get the sleeved short cable set for $20? i see it on frozen cpu for $300...
the case looks big, but i like the cooling options. can you fit it in a backpack for easy transport?
Thanks. Very impressive and aesthetically pleasing blog. Well laid out and informative.
Do you notice any performance issue with the caviar blue hooked up to that sata 3gb/s instead of a sata 6gb/s? Do the loading screens in games typically take a while? I want to get a mITX board, but I'd have to pay $20 - $30 more just to get a sata 6gb/s header. Thanks.
did you have to download a bios update to run that ivy bridge cpu on that older model mobo?
did you have to download a bios update to run that ivy bridge cpu in that mobo?
Nice build! Mine is very similar. I recently got that same card and was also pretty stoked when Skyrim detected maxed-out settings as default. I had to lock the framerate at 60 fps cuz before I was getting up to 140 fps and the game was bugging out! lol. I have the same chassis and psu - there's definitely room for cable management, if you're into that sort of thing.
It should fit. I have one.
If the PSU is intaking from the case, does the heat adversely affect its life? Or is this negligible?
this isn't a bad build, it's not a -8 for sure. though true it's not a "high-end performance gaming computer". unless your playing games from 5 years ago. a more thorough description would be nice
you cannot get a 7870 for that price. not now. maybe a couple months ago. if you can then tell me where so i can buy it :/
Excellent build. The cable management looks very familiar :) I like how you spread the sata power cables out on the back of the case - I didn't have the patience to do that. +1
That cooler looks pretty nice, but it's a little expensive for me. I'm mainly just looking for something quiter, I don't think I need any significant cooler power as I can't do any overclocking with this cpu or mobo. Are there any coolers you recommend in the $20 or less range?
The 270x is a little over my price range - and I thought it was too close to the gtx 760 price wise. Is the 760 significantly better? What about the 270? Is it significantly worse than the 270x?
Thank you !
I know, I apologize. It's an iphone. After all this isn't camerapartpicker.com lol
This build isn't that bad. He's already got an am3+ mobo. Just throw in an amd fx and you're good to go. Just don't expect to get very far with the limited hdd space.
how is this monitor for you?
how's this mobo? I'm thinking of getting the same. i have an i5-3330. i read this mobo is mainly for business builds? i'm a little worried because it seems to have limited upgradability with only 1 sata 6 port and no options for xfire/sli, though these worries may be unrealistic.
how do the amd gpu's work with the intel processor? some one recommended that i get nvidia if i want and intel processor, idk if he was just a fanboi or not.
cpu and mobo working well? I'm thinking of the same. I've heard rumors that MSI boards aren't so good though...
Would this processor with a 7850 gpu do well for gaming?
Is the phenom ii x4 965 be much better than this processor? Ppl seem to like that one a lot.
Anyone happen to know how the Phenom ii x4 965 black compares to the athlon ii x4 750k for gaming?
how is this working for you. I am looking to build something very similar, possibly cheaper mobo and ram.
