I'll have to give it a shot, because I'm sure that it won't get too much hotter at low usage if I just set the fan speed a little lower.

Yeah I figured it's a hot card, especially with a Red Devil. It just seems odd that even at low idle temps it locks you to 30% speed.

This is a nice little PC, I dig the purple light in that Fractal case. I personally would prefer to use an m.2 SSD over sata when able.

Very nice looking build. I just finished building in the h210i and wish that I could've gotten ahold of the h400i, it's a shame that they discontinued it.

Yeah I had already purchased it and after really fiddling around with it, I absolutely cannot get both screws in there. The Fuma 2 also looks like it would be a tough fit, so I'm gonna go with the Mugen 5 instead. I appreciate the answer dude.

I'd honestly go for a 1660 of some variety if he kept the same budget and bought a r5 2600. If OP wants to play more cpu hungry games, then an r5 3600 would still be a fine choice imo.

How's the noise and temps with that psu? I'm debating on using a 550w rmx psu or the 600w sff from Corsair because some people say that sff helps gpu temps in this case, but others say it's just fine with atx sized.

Comment reply on Forum Topic "NVME compatible with older 990FX motherboard?"

Yeah I figured that the pcie 2.0 would pretty much hols it back, but I don't have any spare storage devices lying around. If I can get an NVME for the same price as sata, then it would at least mean one less cable to manage in my nzxt source 210.

Comment reply on Forum Topic "NVME compatible with older 990FX motherboard?"

It's essentially just slow booting times, slower read/write speeds, etc due to only having an HDD. The system in question is an fx 8320 system on an asrock 990fx motherboard, gtx 970, 16gb 1600 ddr3, and running on 1 7200 speed HDD.

Was your motherboard already updated to work with your 3600 and did it give you any trouble? I plan on using this board and am trying to decide if I should use a 2600x or 3600 since I don't have my own zen/zen+ cpu to update the bios.

Yeah I've read about that and think it would be worth using an SFX for the space and airflow. I saw some pics with a 120mm fan in the bottom in this vented shroud.

I'll probably roll with the 650w EVGA one.

This video was pretty informative and having a vidual aid is super helpful, thank you. I don't think my ram will be a concern, so I'll likely go with the Ninja for noise and aesthetics. Would ommitting a dedicated exhaust fan matter much with the rear fan so close to the exhaust? I've never built an ITX before, so if it would be a problem, I could probably refit the read fan with a slim Kaze and use another slim for dedicated exhaust.

I meant that I haven't seen the Ninja 5 in other itx builds and can't find pictures, the Dark Rock Pro 4 manages to fit in the NZXT H210, though supposedly a tight one.

Noted, the Ninja seems like it's similar in sizing to the Dark Rock Pro 4, but I dunno if it'll fit the same since I can't find other builds using it on ITX. I would've imagined that the Fuma 2 with 2 slimmer fin stacks would cool better than just one big stack, interesting.

I'm tempted to go for the Ninja 5 since people can fit a Dark Rock Pro 4 in the NZXT h210 and that top looks super nice but, I can't see any pictures of anybody else fitting it in ITX though.

Would you recommend the Fuma 2 over the Ninja 5 in this case? I forgot to check out what Scythe had since I heard about their Mugen being good before, but neglected to check what Scythe had to offer over BeQuiet/Noctua.

Seems like a solid choice as well and probably a way easier AM4 mounting system, I'd imagine that it and the Katana 5 would pretty much have similar performance. hmm

Comment reply on Forum Topic "Small white pc for media and light gaming."

Yeah, I did have the $129.99 gigabyte aorus selected, but I honestly want the smaller form factor of Mini-ITX compared to even Micro-ATX. My options for a small micro atx case that's white seem a bit limited, and the NZXT H400 is unavailable. Plus the H210 mini-itx is just small enough to fit in my shelf if I settle on placing it there. I'm not too bothered by paying the extra money for a smaller size instead of saving cash with a micro case and the ASRock B450M/AC micro board.

tldr; I'd consider micro if almost every white case weren't out of stock.

Granted my primary system is made for modern games with a R7 3800x and a 2080S, but the option of being able to upgrade later sounds ideal. And yeah, I did pay $125 for the 1060 6GB used. It's good enough for my needs in it and I got it for less than 1650S price.

Comment reply on Forum Topic "Looking to cut costs on a new AMD build"

I changed some parts around to cut the costs - https://pcpartpicker.com/list/TbVGn7

You should be getting about the same performance from the 212 EVO and the stock cooler, which is the wraith prism, which is pretty quiet and has some RGB.

You could get a 2060 super for about the price of the 5700xt you listed, but the cheapest 5700xt should do well too.

You could cut the costs down a little bit more by using 3200 speed memory for probably a negligible performance difference.

I have a dumb question, but how do you get this strip to work? I tried following the instructions by plugging both strips into eachother and the rgb header into my x570 Aorus Elite motherboard with the other strip not plugged in on the other end since that end of the strip ends in pins. I even made sur edge arrows not he strips pointed the right way :/

I can't really provide an exact measurement, but as long as the combines length of the graphics card and radiator thickness is 315mm or less, then you should be able to fit it with the frontal fans installed. Given that the Asus 3 fan card is 305mm long, you'd probably have to settle for mounting the radiator on the top if you really want an AIO.

I'd personally go for a quality air cooler or even custom watercooling over an AIO.

I didn't think about getting a little mic like that, but if I go with that solution I have to find some nice headphones that most certainly have to be less than $200, maybe even around $150. It's a good suggestion though since it broadens my choices a bit more. Thanks!

Probably could've done better like gotten a slightly better GPU and better PSU since it was about $800 without monitors in the price, somewhat over $700 if you exclude Windows. I don't get why you got the FX 6200 instead of the 6300 either but okay. I havn't used that headset myself but my Creative Fatal1ty is nice and about the same price...just that you gave it 3 stars.

http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-1890751/fit-270x-gigabyte-edition-nxzt-source-210-ellite-case.html

I found that it just means it'll be blocked by high up hard drives and it'll be a bit close with only about 20mm of space but it'll fit. I'm probably gonna get a different case with 4 USB ports on he front and a window later one, or who knows maybe this one will grow on me and be kept.

I'll probably make use of one of the 5.25 bays to put an SSD in there eventually and move Windows over to it. Do you know if I'll have to put in my key again and will I lose everything when I move it?

The build seems nice but why did you pick an FX-4230 over a 6300 when they're about the same price? The hard drive for like $2 or $3 more you could've gotten 1TB. As for the graphics card, the r7 250x and gtx 740 seemed to be at better prices or cheaper with one gtx 750 barely making it at about the same price as the 250 you got since 2gb of VRAM would most likely be enough for gaming.

Other than that it looks like a solid build.
