Stock speeds, Heaven gives me an Avg 130FPS (1440p high graphics). I've not really benched it since I built it.
I'm hoping putting it under water will mute it. It's sat on my desk, unfortunatly above a radiator (the only place I can put it) and can be faily noisey.
You won't need to worry about different metals as you can't expand the H100i. So whatever you get to cool the GPU will be seperate from the CPU loop.
As above the G12 is an option, but before you order anything try changing your AIO rad location. I assume you have it up front as an intake, which would explain the high GPU temps. Try fitting it to the top as an exhaust, you'll have higher CPU temps but the GPU temps should fall.|
Also how long is the GPU under heavy load, as it's not going to be constantly sat at 82°C so these temps are fine. I'd be concerned at anything above 90°C. But as I say moving the AIO rad may bring your GPU temp down to something your happy with.
As Feudal said. I've got my X62 mounted as a front intake, I've seen my CPU temps drop, but GPU increase.
All's about to change though as I'm going full watercooling.
Well its certainly under a year, I installed it in feb (bought it in December though). I knew about the corsair asetek failures, but because I was out the country for 5 months on detachment when I pre ordered, I must have missed this asetek detail on my x62.
Its under warranty anyways, so as long as you've a back up cooler (which I don't haha), it shouldn't be a problem... I'm not saying its right, as products like this shouldn't be failing like this.Bit its easily sorted under warranty.
I think my x62 pump has gone, waiting for rma details on Monday.
Soon, I had to sand back to bare wood because the wet/dry messed up.
Got the draws today and timber ready to finish the same as the table.
No matter what, regardless of if it is sold out or not... your wife will ALWAYS be right, even if shes wrong, shes right... ALWAYS....
But as you're not married yet, your fiancée is most definitely in the wrong... how dare she hold this from you... guilt trip her to hell man.
PS. Let us know how you get on :p
As Jeff says pal, take... your... time...
Treat this like a life lesson, not just for this one task. You know the saying "measure twice, cut once", well it applies here with pc building. Be patient, think and don't force, if it feels wrong, it probabily is.
There's pleanty of information about, whether it's here on PCPP, online blogs/forums or Youtube.
I'm a new pc builder too, but I'm a weapons technian, so with that engineering/technical background it was a doddle, but I still took my time as I said above.
I didn't use an ESD strap, I just grounded myself on the radiator every now and then, and put some cardboard on the carper and limited my feet movement.
Good luck with the build and good on you for seeking advice, it's never a bad thing to ask for help (something I wish I'd done when I was your age).
I get it now haha, it was like 3am when I last replied :p
Now you've just confused me... it's late.
Yes, if the code hasn't already been redeemed.
I did a quick power usage thing on their site, and this popped up in an email.
I got my 750P2 in Jan so clearly in no need of a new PSU haha
Though I would hope whoever did use the code would pop a quick thank you :p
What Chillsabre said, wait a month or so.
I've a 1080 FTW iCX in the post and I'm tempted to send it back for the ti FE, as EVGA has said that you can't step up to the FTW 3, only to the FE. I've 90 days to think about it, so as I say it's a wait and see.
You've waited this long without getting a 1080, what's a little bit longer/
I'v had my mind settled on the Asus PG279, ordered once, but cancelled due to them not price matching elsewhere (plus they was charging for delivery), and then it was out of stock when I refreshed the page -.-!!!
But after the missus's 30th, I'll should be getting it. 1080ftw is a tad overkill for 1080p haha
I thought the price difference was only going to be 20-30... I mean us FTW ACX3.0 owners only need to pay 90 for the upgrade to FTW2 ICX.
I think the extra bits they've included in the ICX is worth the extra money (upgrade) and would definatley buy it over the FTW ACX if the initial purchase was 30 more.
Looking at the EVGA site, it's saying it's $679.99 for the new FTW and $649.99 for the older FTW.
See I've had my FTW ACX for les than a month, I'm considering this as I plan on keeping the card a long time.
Are there any other FTW owners upgrading? I think a few more YT vid's and I'll be decided.
I think a year to wait is a bit excessive haha, I'd have enough money for 2 ultrawides by then.
I'm from the UK, no such stores. Only things we have is crappy PC worlds/Dixons.... and you're not going to get anything from there.
I'm going down the oak worktop route, just deciding on base/legs for it.
As much as the ikea Linmon desk looks a decent desk, I can't stand the idea of a hollow desk. At least with mine it's gonna last a life time, longer than the computer.

I've got the Evolv TG, and the X62 up top. I've the corsair LED RAM, whilst clearance is tight I wouldn't say there was an issue....
If you did have an issue, there's the mod you can do to move the radiator out of sight up top... I plan on doing this at some point as I think it's a cleaner look, and will take up a little more of that long AIO hose
I was torn between the 7700k or the 7600k... I think it's £100 in price difference, and as much as I've just built this high spec gaming rig, I don't think I'd utilise all of the I7.
Just got my 1080 FTW the other day, when I start building I'll register the card and order new pads... they say the BIOS update should be enough, but I think I have the thermal pads too if you please.
My z170 Hero Alpha arrived last week, and because I'd been away for months, I wasn't quite up to date with goings on.... needless to say I returned it and my Maximus IX Code arrives tomorrow. Not only is this a great looking board, it comes with GPU pci armour and audio routing in sound studio III.
I was actually looking at getting this amp, and a small cab. Never known of these smaller amps until a friend mentioned it last year. I nearly bought one there and then haha.
And eventually 1440p (I'm going to use a 1080p monitor for a few weeks... overkill I know, but it's only temporary), I've overspent slightly so sometime in Feb. I'm after the Asus pg279, but obviously know about the QC issues, so would rather have my rig up and running, then buy the monitor so I can check straight away... I've been monitoring the price of the monitor for months, and it just seems to be going up and up... soon it's going to be worth my while to go ultrawide haha.
Maverick F1 (the one with funky vol/tone rollers) and a LTD V-350. Run through Pod x3 into a 100w Marshall MG.
Hate the amp, but for what I need it for it does it's job. I could jave spent less on this build and maybe got a decent combo tube amp (really don't have the room for a half stack anymore), but I didn't want to skimp out on this build.
On topic.... my RAM and 1080 came today.... problems with my c.card (duplicate payments -.-) mean I need to hold out a few days before I get the last bits.
Just background music/tracks to jam along with really, I've played on/off for years and play whenever I get the urge to.
This is why I've sent my Hero Alpha back and I'm waiting for Maximus Code, wasn't too much of a price difference... and the Audio Routing is exactly what I've been after.
7600k,I'm in the same position, new build from the ground up. Im getting a z270 and was going to just get 6th gen, but I've thought, what's the point if it's a build I've been wanting to do for years....
To the point, buy now or buy never because you'll be waiting on the next thing forever
Is anyone upgrading their z170?
I've purchased 80% of my build but thinking of sending my hero alpha back and getting maximus code there's not much price difference, more ports out back, no ps2 ports and the cherry on top (for me) is the sound studio III.
I'm still going to get the 6600k/6700k like.
I think I'll stick with the 1080 (evga ftw), as I'll be buying it in a few weeks and not going to hold out any longer.
That 10 quid a month thing... What a crock of, well you know.
Founders edition cards have a blower type cooler, ideal for small cases or sli cards next to each other.
The aftermarket cards, have better cooling and are clocked higher (due to the better cooling and more power).
A simple search on Google and YouTube will answer all your questions...
When I planned a build a few years back (pre child) I was going to get the C70 too, for the same reasons, it's got that great military ruggedness, looks like one of our chaff tins. But that's as much as I can say on it.
Overclockers now have these in stock... Mine is on its way :).
Great, I'll give it a shot before I start thinking of alternatives.
Cheers big, may have to run kodi off of something else then.
Just pre ordered mine, I'm not home for another 6 weeks, so anytime before then and I'll be happy.
People have given OP better systems, but they've still gone and bought a prebuilt "beast".
Aye, that it is.
Didn't see the g900, that's a cracking price for that.
Aye, I'm looking forward to playing fallout and I can imagine that the I7 is going to be beneficial here.
Oh believe me I'm going to have fun... Considering I've had to use a laptop for nearly 10 years... For practically only. Every time I've had the chance of building a rig somethings gotten in the way like unexpected bill or a child (fuzzy haired little bugger haha).
Trying to figure out what I need to do first when I comes to setting it up... Windows, get some anti virus/malware programs then update drivers. Am I forgetting anything?
Masuderman, I did have the I7 specced on this list for a while, I dropped it to the I5, it's going to be one of those on the day decisions which one I get.
What games are you finding are bottlenecking your gpu?
You're right about the psu, I don't think I'll be running a 2nd gpu anytime soon.
When is cyber Monday anyways?
Yeah it definitely needed this, it was my 2nd choice case after the evolv tg, I just wish both sides wasn't tg.
As the others have said, remove the HDD and get a case for it.
My HP screen died, so did what I did for the missus's laptop and just took out the HDD and scrapped the laptop.
I do wonder how many people scrap U/S laptops and don't take out the HDD, leaving all their data behind and possibly in someone elses hands.
Cooling and clock speeds...
This should give you some insight into the different types of GFX card coolers that you'll see about.
This build is brilliant!
I was looking at an alternitive to the Enthoo Luxe, I think I've found it. A much better looker on my desk than the Luxe.
Great built, but I absolutely love the desk. Great craftsmanship!!
Well I watched TTL review of them on OC3D and it seemed as though they we're qieter than stock fans.
How about the corsair ML140's?
Cheers for the update. I know there's cheaper monitors out there, but after reading and watching reviews really did settle on this... no point in half measures eh.
